WORKS Tune Dyno Numbers

WORKS is helping me build and prepare a car for the Targa Newfoundland Rally in September. They've helped me tune the car for the event, and I posted the most recent tuning numbers to my blog for those who might be interested:

Almost-final Tune by WORKS

The tune is still pretty conservative, and was done on 91 octane fuel. Relevant mods include:

- Injen Intercooler and LICP
- WORKS throttle body
- Cosworth Cams and WORKS valvetrain parts
- Tanabe Concept G turbo-back exhaust

Check it out.

I've not had a check engine light from the WORKS tune yet. Could the overboost problem have something to do with your blow-off valve install?

There really is no need for an aftermarket BOV on this car. Hopefully you have it recirculating as well, because that will obviously cause issues if not. I would swap back to a stock BOV and see if it has any affect.

Most likely, the CEL is caused by your test pipe, our TR303 and TR340 packages with WORKS Exhale exhaust system and WORKS High Flow Cat will not throw a CEL.

Feel Free to call me up at the office if you have more issues.

1. There is a dip in the curve after peak boost that seems to overlap a dip in the hp and torque. If Works are running ECU boost control with their excellent pill, adjusting the WGDC tables slightly higher in that rpm range might take care of this dip, unless there is something else that is causing it.

2. I do not think that your AFR is rich. Your car is ~ at 12:1 AFR at peak boost and is above 11.4:1 AFR throughout the rpm curve. I do not think that is rich for 91 octane gas.

Congrats on your tune.

the XI bov works just fine for basic mods cuz its metal. People changed evo 8's cuz they were plastic and would leak. If you are looking for more sound out of the BOV then just purchase an open air filter such as buschur racing for 80 bones, and your bov will be more noticeable. Good luck.
