Will a stock evo pass smog in CA?

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this as i am new here, if it is not please direct me to where i can post it.

Just a simple question, will a stock evo pass CA smog?
I'm asking because I'm looking to buy one out of state and bring it in.

Sometimes cars are sold differently in different states.

The Evo is a 50 State certified vehicle, there was no separate federal and CA emissions version.

Even if it was, this does not apply to used vehicles with over 7,500 miles.

Youll pass just fine. I had aftermarket cams and still passed the sniffer test.

yes you will be fine. I had my evo in cali with bolt-ons and was able to pass. Cat is the key.

With OEM cat? 100% certain.

State-specific cars are far less frequent now than 10-20 years ago, though it's usually the CA-spec ones that might be tuned slightly differently, leaning toward being a little cleaner (and maybe being SULEV or something) and/or getting slightly better fuel economy at the expense of a few horses. But it's never to the point where its non-CA counterpart wouldn't pass CA smog, though I hear sport bikes may be a different story.

Yea I've been reading up on it now, and I was mistaken I guess since my car now would pass in other states with no problems and wouldnt pass in CA when it came out made me think

You'll be fine. I bought my car from Texas and it had a variety of bolt ons. Like most have said the oem cat converter is key. The DMV inspection is only a safety inspection, they won't scrutinize aftermarket mods.

FWIW I just went to a shop with the new Star system. All the ECU stuff passed (running a tuned ECU on V7) but I failed the visual due to a Vishnu 3" DP & HFC. Swapped back to totally stock exhaust and blew basically 0/0/0/0 on the same tune + Kelford TX264, stock turbo, injectors. Not really a problem, just a PITA.

I think we're going to be fine with ECU stuff. They're just trained to look for the stock cat.

Do you mind sharing the settings you used? I used the most popular one that I've found on EvoM, but couldn't get the rear O2 readiness code to show.
