New turbo kit for my car.

As some of you know my old turbo (standard gt35r) blew up at a local track rental. I went thur quite a few options and plans before decided on just what to do with the car, and what I wanted out of the car. I ended up selling the old kit, minus the turbo and am building all new stuff for my car.

I decided on PTE's billet 62mm dbb turbo. It has a bigger exhaust housing than the 35r did, but should still spool nice, and support over 700whp.

While I was waiting on the turbo, I decided to go thur the engine, it was stock shortblock/head etc. Everything looked perfect when I took it apart, and for the abuse this thing as went thur, def shows what the 4g can hold up to with proper tuning/setup. The stock engine/ecu/maf etc went 10.36 @ 137.

I installed crower rods and weisco HD pistons, I ported the head and intake manifold.

Anyway, enough rambling, here are some pics.

First post in the house.... the fathouse.

More sweet work. Do you cope those pieces yourself to make the collector, if so how are you doing it?

I'm going to be starting a roll cage soon, I still need to try a manifold.

Cope? But ya I make the collectors myself. Just made a simple little fixture to hold the pipe still so I can cut the angles. The collector is the more pain in the ass part for me though, but I blame most of that on my china made bandsaw.

I feel you on the cheap ass China made bandsaw...it can def. help make things very frustrating.

I still need to pickup my band saw. I have one chilling at a friends house, just need to drive the truck over and grab it. China bandsaw power... he's giving me one because he bought a nice massive American unit to replace the China power.

Pics of the fixture...

Looks good Jeremy! Make sure to fix that gap on the head flange, don't be sloppy like some other guys.

Thanks Ronny. I know I got a few places I need to fit a little better. I gotta take it all apart for welding anyway.

I got a little more done tonight. Here is a pic of my collector jig. Its not perfect, but it works, I do plan to revise it before I make another collector.

Tomorrow I am gonna start on the downpipe and dump tube.

What are you doing to open up the collector for the wastergate? Drilling a massive hole and then grinding the shaped profile?

Nice! Nice job on the fit up. I like to bevel my tubes more than what you've done, but that's my personal preference. Looks like another solid setup. Good thinking on keeping your JIG so you don't have to remake your downpipe/exhaust.

How much boost did you run on the 35R setup? (weird question... what bov? Recirc or atmo?)
