400hp switch from M05 to M10 Meth Jet with dyno
Hello,
So to start things off, I had 378hp (English Racing tune) prior to my current setup on the AEM meth kit with a M05 jet. English Racing swapped out the M05 with a M10 (had to fab up a connector because the threads were different between the two jet). After the install we drove to the dyno and put down some numbers. Note that I also had installed the R/TErnie Ported Stock IX Turbo and Manifold. On the dynojet I put down a max of 406hp and 387tq. It increased over 24 hp throughout the whole rpm range with gains around 30+hp at 6800. I know this is not 100 percent just a meth jet swap but I feel confident that the ported turbo and manifold didn't give me 30+ hp alone. English Racing feels that the M10 resulted in about a 10hp increase. The M05 seemed to not be able to flow enough meth in higher rpms, resulsting in the car pulling its own timing. Anyone with the AEM meth kit that has over 375hp would greatly result in upgrading to the M10 meth jet. Below is my dyno graph and good luck to everyone running methanol. This is the link to the thread about the highest horsepower stock IX turbo 92+meth that English Racing has tuned, this is my car . English Racing 406hp 387tq Stock Turbo 92+Meth

That will be a fun street car. I'm not a fan of running much more than 500cc on a non-progressive meth setup, higher chance of methanol backfire (esp when not tuned on speed density) for not very much gain and higher expense of using more methanol.
Should be able to see 11.50's at 120 with that power.
EDIT; noticed you had a 6spd. Probably more like 11.60 @118

In the next week or two English Racing and I will be doing speed density, 280 exhaust cam, and one other goodie that has not been done before. We hope to see good gains. haha yes I have the 6speed. Will be doing a 5speed swap when the 6speed blows up again for the 2nd time.

Just installed the 280 exhaust cam, speed density, and M15 meth jet. bumped my power up another 10hp peak but the 280 cam picked up between 15-20hp from 6-8k rpms.

M15 jet, Mike? How fast do you go through 1 gallon? How fast did you go through a gallon with the M10? I might do something like that as it almost feels like the meth "pulses" out at higher rpm (about 26+ or so?). I don't know if that is in fact the meth that I can hear, but it sounds like it. I might go bigger but 1 gallon can usually last me 1 - 3 fillups of 92, depending on how I'm driving of course.
I'm guessing Mike's failsafe is the standard AEM and/or a secondary failsafe that ER uses that they feel even more confident with.
*edit - btw to boltz (post #2) I believe Mike's setup is progressive.

^ Then he doesn't have a failsafe, that power needs a solid failsafe.

I'm pretty sure he has a failsafe. I am pretty sure Mike has the same setup as mine and I have a failsafe. The guys at English Racing weren't happy with the standard failsafe so they included one they are confident with. If anything in the system is not functioning which is causing meth to not flow then the system limits me to WG pressure. I'm not positive that Mike has the same setup as mine, though.

ER failsafe to run of WG like yahu stated. Same. I will however be going to ECU controlled boost next week and that will also give me another added safety feature.

Progressive it is Well meth only comes on when i'm over 12lbs of boost. to be honest, It usually last 2 weeks with my M15 jet. When you have the power that I do i still get up to speeds pretty quick by not going over 12lbs. So there is no need till i'm at WOT. Then its a bat out of hell and flames blowing everywhere!

English Racing is a well known shop that happens to be in WA. I got my meth kit from them and they suggested I also go with an extra failsafe from them.
