half gallon leaked strain into UICP pipe over night! Help!

hello everyone. I having a tough time here. my car managed to leak about half a gallon of meth passed the check valve into the upper intercooler pipe. I took the IC off and drained whatever I could. hooked up some air to it to try and dry it out. car will barely run/idle right now. could methanol have gotten into the actual motor? similar to a hydro lock situation? any help or suggestions how to remedy this would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys.

was it all pooled in the bottom of the uicp? or was the methanol all the way up to the throttle body? methanol instantly evaporates if you can expose it to air. what kind of kit do you have?

labonte kit. it did not go up to the throttle body. it went downstream. into the BOV a little bit and pooled up in the bottom of the intercooler it self. this happened about 10 days ago. I went on vacation and came back to the same problems. pulled the IC pipes again and its all dry. swapped out my fouled plugs and it has a hard time starting and idling, BUT it idles fine once you get it to start and when you hold it at about 1000rpms. I did get a P0113 code for the first bank 02 sensor.

probably with all the residual left in the fmic and in the system its probably still running a tad rich. i bet after changing the spark plugs and running it for a while will probably fix your problems. just the afr being rich could throw your cel, but it could just be time to change that o2 sensor. good luck with it man,

after all the fluid was was drained and the car finally started It idled like hell. well, I reflashed the car with the map and it fixed my problem. I guess the ECU adpated the idle to a very rich condition. once driving aroudn a little bit it burned up the rest of it and drove fine again. problem fixed! thanks everyone

I was retarded and took the check valve out and ran without it to test. And after the car was turned off it siphoned it out.

it is...and it works fine, but during my testing I removed it to see if that was causing my problem...well I never put it back in and it gravity fed right into the IC. all is well now though. drained the lot of it, burned off the rest reflashed the ECU so it would unlearn the lousy idle it had to compensate the overly rich condition. that all works ok now.

Just some food for thought, Make sure your alky tank is mounted lower then where you put your nozzle in your uicp. Even with a check valve, it may be possible for gravity to suck some fluid through.
