Basic mods + nitrous?
I'm currently running Stage 2+ on my car. I have a full catless tbe, intake, 272/272 cams, mbc, fp, etc etc. I'm at the point where I want a little more power but don't want to pay for a bigger turbo and risk a bunch of other things going wrong.
With that in mind, I have been toying with the idea of simply adding a 50, 75, or 100 shot of nitrous to my current set-up via a WOT switch.
Now, before people come in here with flamethrowers, let me tell you that I realize the powers of nitrous and am not very afraid of it. I've seen it run fairly reliably on many cars.
So what do you guys think? I would obviously need a tune... But what about the fact that the timing has to be retarded? Do I need a "nitrous map" and a "normal map"? Or is there a way to tune it into my normal map so when the system is active the timing will be retarded when the WOT switch is engaged?
Finally, the most obvious topic is the longevity of the set-up. I do understand that adding ANYTHING to a motor will put more stress on it and subsequently shorten the life of it; but would my motor be able to hold up for a decent amount of time with my current mods, a good tune, and a smart user?
Thanks and sorry if my thoughts are jumbled... There is a lot to get across in one post.

Stage 2+, is this an audi we're talking about here?
Most evo guys do alky injection instead of nitrous, the power gains are as big and you can use it all the time w/o issue.

I really dont think you are gonna be getn many answers from here about nitrous. I think there is like a 2% of evo owners that do use it but like scheides said everyone goes alky inj instead just cause is better gains and less consequences of eng failure!
