Going to buy a hfs-1..Have questions??

First of all..I have been doing alot of reading, and trying to decide which kit to buy..I decided on the aquamist hsf-1..Due to the fact my car is pretty basic..Bolt-ons i mean..Now to the questions..

With the failsafe that comes with the kit..From what i read,it has a lowlevel sensor, and can be set up for a few different routes..Id like my car to switch maps,in the instance anything were to happen..That has to be done by the tuner i assume..But, is there anything else not in the kit that i need to buy for this to be done??I am running a MBC..will this be a problem for what iwant to do??How much is installation charges on one of these??if i have a shop install it??

Either way..Any and all help appreciated..Justin

The best way to do a good failsafe is with either ecu controlled boost or do a dual MBC setup. You can fail with a single mbc using a mac valve but then you are limited to only running wastegate pressure when the system is out of alky or you flip it off.

Check my thread that is stickied at the top of this forum for info on my setup. I would encourage you to just do the install yourself using the info posted in this forum and this thread for specific questions. It's notmuch different than installing a nice stereo system! You'll easily add about $300 to pay someone else to do the install.

Switching to ecu controlled boost is one thing, and then doing tephra's mods is another....best advice read read read in the ecuflash forum and then come back here with alky specific questions. I'm running mrfred's direct boost mod with the evoX map sensor as well, that is a nice bonus to get going as well. You will HAVE to start with switching to a tephra rom though in order to get map switching going. The info is all in his threads; people have written how-to's, I think there's even video out there of how to do it.
