Greetings everyone,
I was just finishing up the install on my new Aquamist HFS6 kit when I ran into a snag. A leak formed at one of the push fittings that could not be stopped. I chalked it off to being a defective fitting as the other one did not leak.
I e-mailed Richard from Aquamist who stated that I had installed the fittings wrong. I assured him I followed the directions and the diagram exactly and was certain it was a defective fitting.
After speaking to Richard over the phone he investigated the incident and discovered that the diagram that comes with the HFS6 kit is wrong. The old diagram shows the push fitting installed below the accumulator on the 5 way brass fitting. This is incorrect as it is the high pressure side of the pump. Richard further related that the metal screw type fittings should be installed below the accumulator as they are much more secure and made to withstand the high pressure .
A note to everyone who has or will install this kit. The plastic elbow fittings do not go on the pressurized side of the pump as they are not meant for high pressure and will leak.
A big thanks to Richard for taking the time and getting to the bottom of this problem. A+ customer service.
Below is the updated diagram.
