pics showing meth corrosive
I only had my meth set up for a couple months now. Already the stock UICP is showing meth corrosive damage to it. Noticed green around the nozzle. I took off the pipe and see more green inside. I also see streaks of lines from nozzle going reverse direction (towards intercooler) Proof that flow does reverse direction.
I will take pics when I get home from work.
anyone know a good stainless steel pipe that you can use with the stock air flow intake and battery? Buschure sells a stainless but it requires the mini battery.

You are probably using Brass fittings for the nozzle. That is why it is turning green and corroding. There is a certain type of Nozzle that you should buy. I think www.alcohol-injection.com sells them.
You should have a check valve or flow valve to avoid the dripping under vaccum.

I do have the solonoid pre-nozzle. Im using the labonte kit and failsafe. But you could be right about the brass and aluminum chemical reaction. I will have to email Dan at labonte about this and see what he says.
Can I spray paint the nozzle and pipe with that engine spray paint stuff to stop this?

You say proof that the flow reverses direction...
whats the theory behind that?

yup it definetly flow in the reverse direction clearly as you can see the streaks coming from the nozzle. right after a WOT the air flow goes back because its being recirculated back through the recirculating valve right, so I guess there is enough vacumm affect to suck the meth back also. when there is light Out i have to take pics to show you guys.

I'd love to see some pics. How close to the nozzle is the solenoid? I'm thinking maybe there is just still pressure after the TB/solenoid closes and that left over pressure in the line after the solenoid is what leaks out under that vacuum.... maybe

the solonoid is on the side of the airbox near the fuse box side. so its pretty close. I dunno about it leaking because I tested it out lots of times before actually installing it in my intake pipe. It always shut off immediately when it was suppose to. Of course that test never had that vacume acting upon it so I suppose it is a posibility.

im still not certain if its caused by the meth, thats why I posted the pics just to get input from others. I just found that green stuff on the outside where the diverter valve is. It could be caused by that dye in the windshield wiper as I was using that at first.

Having the solenoid further away then 4-5 inches from the nozzle is not recommended due to the exact issue with left over meth in the line beinging pulled out of the line from vaccum, it will potentially cause starting and idling problems... My solenoid is about 3 inches from the nozzle.....
I run the same exact kit as you I think (M12 nozzle) with failsafes and had issues when I had solenoid tucked behind the fuse box to the right of the battery. I have a Fujita UICP and dont have corrosive damage... so check them out.
By your last post you mentioned that you were using washer fluid instead of meth right? (I know that it works if you get the right type, just havent spoken to anyone who actually uses, or used it)

So that is most likely a reaction between the meth and aluminum right?
I don't know of a stock location steel UICP, but I'm sure if you looked around you could find one. Call a few places or whatever.
