More Problems with my HFS-5
So over the summer I purchased an HFS-5 kit from a fellow Evom'r and had problems with the Gauge. I got it sorted with Richard L and sent him my stuff. He sent me back my repaired gauge and upgraded my DDS3 to V9. I'm still having problems with the kit working correctly. One of the problems was the kit not turning when it supposed to. 5volts on pin #6 is what I looked for. With my old setup it stayed 5volts regardless of condition. Now I'm only reading 2.2volts regardless of condition. I'm also having another stupid problem. As my car idles I get a steady pulse of water coming from the kit. The L.E.D. on the DDS3 is off which indicates to me that the system is not on yet I get this pulse of water. Also the pump sounds as if it's just idling at this point. I decided to drive it anyway with the tube just sticking out of the hood to see what happens. When I jump on it the L.E.D. turns on, the pump kicks on, and the water squirts nice and strong and when I release of course everything seems to return to the condition stated above. PLEASE HELP!!!

Is your old system v8 and the new system v9?
Remind me the problem with the gauge?

Yes old system v8 new v9. You said that the 5volts on pin#6 should be there when I hit the button on the gauge to turn the system on and 0volts when off or vice versa....I forgot. Anyway I have it hooked up again and now I'm reading 2.2volts whether the gauge is on or off. I also have a problem with the HSV. I'm assuming that's the source of my little "water pulse" problem. I guessing the slight pulse is because of the pump idling but the HSV seems to be open, allowing the pulse to make it's way out the tube.

- Voltage on pin 6 is different between the v8, v9 and v10.
- Is this problem recently happen or since the initial installation?

I never installed it after you sent it back. I decided two days ago to reinstall the gauge and DDS3. I know I must have some wires crossed up somewhere. The HSV was clicking which I'm assuming means it was opening and closing which allowed the water to squirt out at idle. I have the red wire coming from the HSV tied into the the red wire from the FIA2 which is also tied into pin#59 from the Ecu. Is this correct? Why is the HSV pulsing?

I seemed to remember, there wasn't a problem found on the gauge at the time, just need to modify to v9 spec.
I then offered the v9 junction board to you because we have just brough out of the v9 at the time, all free of charge.

yes and I greatly appreciate it. I'm just frustrated at my own stupidity. I'm obviously doing something wrong. It's driving me nuts. Now I know why most tuners that install these don't like to work with do-it-yourselfers. I keep going over the wiring diagram to see exactly what I'm doing wrong.

OK, HSV pulsing.
Does the red led on the FIA2 blink?

what happened richard? It sounds like you might know my problem? I don't know how many hours you're ahead of Eastern Standard Time in the U.S. Let me know when's the best time to contact you.

try double checking all your wiring, I had a problem recently with my kit after re-wiring some stuff and it turned out to be a loose wire somewhere. It took a while to track it down with Richard's help. In the end though it was something simple so be sure to double and triple check your wiring since its almost definitely a simple wiring issue.
