What if we want to run EBC? My EBC hold boost better then I have ever seen on a MBC or ECU controlled boost. How would one wire in a failsafe for that?

I replied to your PM DBallz. If you think that your EBC is better than a GM 3 port with JDM Map sensor combo, read up on Razorlabs research...you'll realize that EBC's aren't any more superior than that combo..though you can have better ECU control over the rpm/load range than you would with most EBC setups on the market.

I think here within the next month I'm going to switch over from MBC with Mac valve for failsafe to ecu boost control with tephra patch and the harness I got from Jack last summer I've heard of some ppl using the Mac valve for the ecu boost control with no jdm map sensor and tuned boost via load. Can anyone elaborate?

+1

Has anyone tried this?

Looking at the schematics shown by Richard L, wouldn't the 3 port solenoid just bypass the MBC when alky is turned off? If another MBC was used, the solenoid could switch between them for the stock fuel map and alky map. I would have the low boost MBC connected to the de-energized port of the solenoid for safety.

This should work in theory:

Just have the duty cycle set to 100% across the board for one and 0% for the other.

is there any way to have map switching on the stock ecu and also have a path to ground for the AVCR scramble switch when flow is detected? I can figure out how to have one or the other but not for both. This is for HFS-6 in particular

Yes, the H6 has three failsafe outputs.

1. Map switch ......... page 18.1
2. Relay output ........ page 18.2
3. Boost by-pass ....... pagew 19

Use "1" for for map switch, "2" for your AVCR. With white wire grounded (com) and brown wire to Scramble wire.

So now I'm leaning towards doing ECU controlled boost next year and HFS-6. How does your alt-map switch harness work with the HFS-6?

Just the same as it does with the HFS-1 and 5 but with different wire hook ups.

I will make a diagram shortly.
