Oh no lets not misunderstand it is too cool for us no pun needed it takes a whole level of tuning and preparation we truly are unable to comprehend- Best of luck to all participants and we too are sitting back with the popcorn waiting to see some good times and awesome drag EVOs... wait did I say drag EVOs

hi guys,
Lachlan and I got back from XS Engineering late last night. Back and forth to LA (950 miles) in just one day.. ugh. Anyway, I went to XS to tune Turbo Magazine's project car. It picked up around 40-50whp with the XEDE and custom tuning which surprised a lot of people Ended up making around 330whp with what is essentially a Stg 1+ set up (with 3" cat) Going back there in a couple of weeks to test on race gas and with a test pipe. Should reach 360-370whp which is close to what other Stage 1+ cars have put down there.

After tuning the Turbo Mag project car, I asked the guys at XS if I could see what our red shop car does on their dyno. They said yes We've never dyno'd it on any dyno but our own so all we had to go on is predictions and rule of thumb calculations on how it would do on other dynos which others are familiar with such as the DTS unit at XS. Since a whole slew of tuner EVOs dyno'd there the week before on the largest EVO meet ever, it was worth a try.

Due to time constraints, we only did one run. And it put down 563whp. Unfortunately, this was on a 30% mixture of 91 and 70% of C16. The car got alarmly good fuel economy on the drive down to LA (Lachlan was driving... doh!) so we arrived with too much pump gas in the tank I'm quite certain it would have broken 600whp with straight C16.

Even so, I was told that it was the strongest EVO ever tested there by 130whp. It also has stock rods, pistons, crank, etc,. Only internal engine mods are rod bolts, headstuds and headwork (cams, valves, retainers, springs and porting). This motor has nearly 4000 dyno pulls, 6000 miles of One Lap and 25,000 miles of daily driving under its belt and isn't sipping a drop of oil. Compression results are still perfect as well. In other words, it's a perfectly reliable daily driver and downright nasty road race car-- not a one-trick dyno queen that has been known to drive on the street and drag race once a month or so

The set-up of the car is virtually identical to what we ran during One Lap with the exception of a GT35R (replacing the 3037) and the XEDE v3 setup that the Chiptorque guys and I have been developing and testing all week. Yep, it works well More on that later... pretty neat stuff.

I have a video of the run and dyno graphs that i'll post as soon as time permits.

Cheers,
Shiv

Very impressive results there, I really wish your products and tuning were a little more accessible/affordable for the East Coast guys like myself.

EDIT: Not necessarily the place to discuss this but the projected Vishnu Dynoday cost at Turbotrix is a little excessive, 725 dollars for a reflash?

Agreed. I feel like I'm rushing to get money together for this dyno day at TT. If you were closer by it wouldn't have to be like this. But such is life.
