This might sound funny but I ordered one of these and installed it on my car.

One day I lifted my hood and it was GONE. Clean break close to where it bolts up. I looked at the metal foil on my hood and there was an indentation. Am I crazy??????

EDIT- I have an aftermarket front motor mount stopper.

Wow. Definitely havent heard of this issue before. I dont see how it could just up and break. I mean anything is possible I guess. Its made out of aluminum so its not weak. Maybe if it was torqued to high heaven or something. Other than that im clueless.

Definitely isnt a common occurrence in the least.

I had a similar issue with mine. It started to come loose after a few race events. I had to use some washers under it so it will tighten down on as flat a surface as possible. That might be why you guys are having problems. If I remember right, where the shield mounts on is not a completely flat surface. I just remembered using some washers and tightened it good and snug and all was well. No issues since then.

Would be nice to fix the problem that way, but the thing cracked off cleanly; It was also tightened hand tight...
