It isn't based on the wastgate spring, but rather where you have your boost set. The stock setting is arround 18-19 PSI. It only opens when the car hits full boost. So it will only be noisy when you hit full boost. Should be just fine for daily driving.

Thanks for bringing this up, Ruben. Q has been briefing me of your conversations and I was amazed at the amount of back pressure you mentioned to Q. Every vehicle we have put this on has transformed the car into a faster spooling machine.
I'm the turbo diesel guy here and was wondering if you or JestR had any way to measure the EGTs in this area. Our piece has to dramatically reduce these temps. This is a huge issue with diesels. Gotta keep the EGTs down.

A couple of people have answered this question, but I'll elaborate a little more ...
The wastegate opening depends on the boost level you are set at and the VE of the engine. At low RPM, there is potential for quite high boost levels as the turbo has more time to pressurize the intake. As RPM rises the turbo works harder to build that boost and therefore the wastegate begins to close more and more to keep it spinning.
This means that there will be more flow through the wastegate at lower RPM and even at lower boost pressures. So, the dump will be louder at lower RPM (3500 to 5500) and louder at lower boost levels. This is of course assuming that you are at WOT.

I'll try and answer all of your questions.
Our Part will work with the stock undertray, all you have to do is make a slight hole to allow the pipe to come through the undertray, very easy to do and it will not affect the undertray usefullness at all.
Our O2 Dump will have a full waranty against cracking welds/flanges/ or any other issue. We strive to make the best part out there, we are all craftsmen first and foremost. We at EvoPowerMods.com have designed our part with quality in mind not just quanity. That's why we have taken the time to do this right from the get-go.
Also for a daily driver this is the ideal part. You get the full benefits when it's called on, but when you stay out of full boost and you will not know it is there. The Dump only opens up when full boost is realized.
If you are running the stock Intercooler Pipes then just make a note of this when you order, or put yourself on the pre-order list. We have taken great care to fit our O2 Dump in such a tight area. Again this is but one reason why we have taken the time to do this right and not rush our part into production. We have come up with a great design that not only produces power but also looks great, and fitment has been a critical area that we have addressed. Our O2 Dump will deliver in every area of concern.
Again thanks for your interest, any other questions;.... keep them coming.
All of you that have put yourself on the Pre-order list; you will be gauranteed to be the first to get these shipped to you, keep those pre orders coming; we have quite a big list already.
again thanks for your interest....

Todd, I don't have a EGT gauge in my car or something to test the amount of back pressure, but I'll be asking around and looking for someone who has the equipment and I wouldn't doubt me being able to find it
I'll keep you guys informed of what I find

Couple more quick questions...
If I have stock UICP but aftermarket LICP which version will I need?
Any ideas on how much it will hang below the stock undertray? I'm trying to get an idea of ground clearance on a lower car.
Thanks!

Either version would work for your Evo; it's just a little easier for us to fab up for the aftermarket IC pipes, lots more room to work with. I would suggest version 2 for aftermarket IC pipes.
Also the ground clearance shouldn't be an issue. On the last test vehicle we had it on, the tube hung down just 2 inches below the undertray, that's about right. You dont want that hot exhaust gas too close to the plastic undertray.
No probs on the questions keep them coming. Either thru this forum/thread or PM or Email me.
Again the pre-order list is growing by the minute, keep em coming. Get on the list to assure your O2 dump is shipped out ASAP.
