Jrod, isn't that a 1.03 from the VIII to the IX, instead of the 1.09 from the IX that will be used in the new tranny? That would make it the IX 1st, VIII 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and the IX 5th.

As I think about it, it depends on your mph in 4th as to which 4th you need. The IX 4th is too low for high hp cars. The IX 4th gear could be better for those up to about 125-130 mph probably.

taller tires... i just bought some 255/45/17 for stock size rim and it will give me 124 at 8k in 4th. with the combo of a viii 4th gear and say a 27" tire instead of my 26" you could probably do close to 140 in 4th
edit: forgot to add my question..lol
the cyro treatment of the sliders and all components.. is it necessary to do everything for a 500whp car?
will it help with power shifting?

OK Jarrod... I like that you are offering this, but you know me I like to build my own sh*t (do my own work).
Can I get the individual parts from you to do my own rebuild? My trans is coming out in a few weeks cause of some 4th and 5th problems
I want the taller 4th and 5th option, and some syncos... can you do that?

Buschur, can you please move to Texas.
1 One of the fastest 1/4mile tracks open year round in San Antonio
2 One of the lowest cost of living in the USA (San Antonio not Austin)
3 Good fishing lakes and hunting in Texas with Gulf of Mexico 2 hours away
4 Texans are friendly and lots of hot girls
5 Best texmex food and authentic Mexico only 2 hours away.
6 Tons of Evo's and WRX's in Austin, Houston, SA and surrounding
7 Very mild winter
8 God likes Texas better
9 I'm running out of reasons but I really don't want to drive all the way up there to do a complete build my car, but I'm going to have to.
Sorry for hijacking the thread and erase it if you want. I was J/k anyway, but not really.

wish i knew about this when my car was there, i would have asked you guys to do the trans upgrade on my car instead of having you guys send it out to shep (nothing against shep). robert fuller filled me in on dan's experience with transmissions while he was at my house doing fender mods to my car. anyways, if anyone is thinking about a transmission upgrade, definitely send it to buschur, they got alot more experience than people think.

Would the quoted price of $850 apply to a fairly damaged transmission or one that is 100% functional. I have been told that the price you pay for a tranny rebuild is never the one advertised.

Two weeks??? Would you guys offer a replacement tranny or your black EVO while you rebuild mine? (J/K).
I would like to do this as one of my next upgrades but I don't know if I could go without a car or afford a rental for that amount of time.
Great price though! I'll have to think about what I could do to make this happen!

I currently use a modded Buschwhacker tranny and we're about to start another one with the new gears combination. Way to go Dan and David for constantly giving us what we need, whether it's better parts or R&D, but mostly for sharing your knowledge with all of us, even the ones you make smarter, just so they can argue with you.
