can't get a signal out of the tuner

I had TXS send me 2 DB9 to RJ12 adapter th other day since the one I had melted. I get a signal directly from the UTEC with the serial cable, but don't get anything through the hyperterminal when I run through the tuner. I've got the settings configured like they shoudl be I believe. Anyone have any ideas??

I called TXS today to check it out. He said they probably sent me the adapter from the DTEC which is pinned differently. so I'm not an idiot....

Well, just to expand on what it looks like to me..

the RJ12 connector on the UTEC is not used on the Evo, at least typically it isn't unless you have a DTEC. Usually you take the regular 9 pin serial cable from he UTEC, plug it into the back of the Tuner/Tunerpro, then the 9 pin connector on the front of the Tuner/Tunerpro has a serial port you connect to your computer.

I was told that the RJ12 connector on the UTEC itself, is just a serial port, but they never said specifically if it was just a different "plug" for the same serial port that the 9 pin connector is wired to, or if its a different port.

But to clarify, all of the documentation on the Evo UTEC definitely shows the 9 pin serial cable connected to the back of the tuner.

I've got no serial connection on the front of either of my tuners, that's why I was confused. I've got the input on the pack and the only other connection is like a phone cable with 6 lines (RJ11?) jack. When I bought my tuner, that's what they sent me, just the phone-lik ecable and the adapter to turn the phone cable into a serial cable. I'm supposed to get the right cables tomorrow from them.... I'll hope for the best.
