Knock with 2.3 sroker Turbo XS Utec and Knock Lite

Hello!

Plese help me with the following problem.

Before I have installed the 2.3 stroker kit my Knock Light and Utec were showing knock at the same time if it was! But now after installing the 2.3 stroker I have recalibrated the knock light to the correct sensitivity level and it does not hear the knock (even orange), but the Utec does.

Do I have to recalibrate the stock knock sensor via Utec or what coudl be the problem? How to do the proper recalibration?

Please help!

You would have to recalibrate it in the UTEC, probably use the same settings in the UTEC as you would your knocklite..

Only problem is, this doesn't override the knock value you'll see in the stock ECU when your closed loop or in portions of the UTEC map that has ECU/passthrough as values, but this is one place where the UTEC has an advantage.

Sorry but can you explain more in details.
The knock light is callibrated by reving the engine to maximum rpm and pressing the button. I do not have the exact settings in knock light.

So the knock light is the right sorce to see the real knocking?

Am I right? Even if I will recalibrate the Utec in ECU zones of maps the knocking sensitivity would be on the level of stock ECU.

Please explain more in details how to recalibrate the UTEC knocking level.

I didn't realize the configuration is like that for the knock light.. Its essentially useless if thats the case, you need knock information from the ECU, if your getting alot of racket where you get alot of knock counts in the ECU, then you can adjust the UTEC settings so their a bit less sensitive..

The problems you will have is in closed loop, if you get alot of knock from engine internals with the stock ECU, you'll get some drivability issues. We don't completely understand the knock filters in the stock ECU, but that is where we would typically fix this.
