UTEC Problems

I bought my UTEC Used and it powered up the second I installed it. A couple days later I hooked up my laptop and i couldnt get the program to work. I installed all the programs and Maps and it says that a serial port wasnt connected. The wire from the utec to my laptop was connected but It wasnt letting me do anything... Does the car have to be running to have the maps pop up? If so Im fine because my motors not even in the car. thanks for your help

yea the ignition needs to be on for it to power up...you likely didn't install the proper driver...are you connecting with a 9 pin or a usb to your laptop...

if you dont have the manual you can download it from TXS. in the manual it tells you what you need to settings to be when you set up the hyperlink on your computer. i had this issue when i first got it before i had it on my laptop. installed the program, but the utec and laptop werent talking. then i found my answer in the manual.

When using the Utec I have had a bunch of problems connecting with the USB, try reinstalling the USB converter drivers and make sure the UTEC connection settings are correct via manual.

bigger injectors and 255 fuel pump dont automatically add horsepower. bolt on wise both of you guys are pretty much the same execpt you need a tune bad because you have bigger injectors for a stock turbo.
