Anyone USE UTEC to Trigger NX Express Solenoid?
I am plannning on using the UTEC to trigger my nitrous solenoid. Anyone do this? Any problems?

my understanding is that you will need to use the Utec to power a relay, which in turn will power the solenoid on the NX system to be successful. The Utec itself (or at least the EVO version of the Utec peripherals) isn't designed to carry enough current to power the solenoid. Even then, powering up a relay is questionable. I have no first hand knowledge of this, only what I've read here in this forum.
Best of luck getting any information out of this forum of late. Seems it's been abandoned.

It would not need to power the solenoid, just trigger it like microswitch mounted on the pedal would. Right?

If wire correctly, yes. I'm trying to come up with an example, but struggling to explain correctly. It would be like wiring up your fuel pump to run at 14 volts all the time. Something like this cheap drawing I just made and the part needed.
relay needed, 20 or 30 amp should be fine, available at all auto parts stores.

a little more explanation.... the Utec isn't designed to have high amps being passed through it's spare solenoid channel. 2 amps max! 2 amps will energize a relay, but won't energize the solenoid valves on the NX system, those probably require 10-20 amps. So, you use the Utec to power the relay, which in turn acts as the "switch" which allows battery voltage to reach the NX stuff. Hope that clears things up a bit.

This seems to make sense, but I need to trigger 2 solenoids at the same time. One Fuel and one N20. Do you think that there will be enough juice from the spare solenoid outlet to split the signal and run 2 relays?

You can power up both solenoids on one relay, so the load on the Utec stays the same. Just run your solenoids in parallel after the relay. Here's a better diagram than I can draw on the NX homesite.

The utec control of the solenoid is nice but there is still no way of launching off the spray so I opted for a different installation...

Why not. Couldn't you just set it to trigger the relay at 100 TPS. Oh wait that would only work with a 2 step which turbo xs has not given us!

Quick update. It works flawlessly. I like things simple and using the UTEC eliminates the need for a mechanical WOT switch and and RPM activated electronic switch. I love my UTEC, but damn, I need speed density!
