You'll be on I-40 the whole way to Asheville, NC. The Bristol group will run South I-81 to I-26.

Last Saturday (5/30) I was heading to DC with the family and a TB Evo VIII with the UK trunk badge and fairly loud exhaust passed us on 840 then got on 40E heading towards Knoxville. Missed the tag, we were in the minivan and whoever was driving the Evo was making a good clip. My brother in law was ahead of us and got passed by the same car heading into the Cookville area.

Nice ride, but if you know who it is, they were smoking lightly as they cruised by me on 840. A little pale-greyish oil smoke would be my guess.

May have been me. I was heading to the US 129 meet and I was headed that direction. Did it have bronze wheels? If it was me you saw, I think (or hope) it was the exhaust wrap I put on the night before. It smoked pretty good through the hood vent as it got up to operating temp when I stopped at one of the first red lights of the morning. It's only 4-5 miles for me to get to 840 so hopefully it was still curing.

Didn't see the wheels, sorry. I was on 840 about 2-3 miles from getting on 40E in the family cruiser (Toyota Sienna Minivan), would have been around 7:30 AM. Do you have a bullet muffler setup that sounds off pretty good? You were making a pretty good clip.

Yeah I have the buschur exhaust and I'm catless so it's pretty loud. I would have been on 840 at about 6-6:15 am. Maybe it wAsn't me but I suspect it was. I was rolling pretty good.

Call Modified Imports and ask for Thomas (owner-operator). # 931-645-9007. Tell him Jay the big dude with the black evo refered you. He's actually in Clarksville off of exit 11. He has worked on my stuff for a few years now. He knows his stuff. He does not have a dyno but he does some pretty sick road tunes with ecu flash, AEM, etc... His prices are reasonable, although I'm not sure what he's charging for the things your needing. Other than that you would have to got to go Memphis to Mellon Tuning. I have never been there but his reputation is pretty stout. Hope I helped a brother in need.

Concur. I have been to Thomas' shop just to see his operations and they are respectable for what he offers. I have also driven to Memphis to get tuned by Chris (Mellon Tuning) and that is definitely your best bet for a street tune or you could opt for an e-mail tune from him as well.

It may have been 6-6:15, that was the start of a week spent in DC seeing many things and overloading my brain. Probably not a lot of TB Evo 8's with the UK trunk badge prowling 840 that morning

Work, the downside of being in Eng/Maint in the wacky world of automotive mfg. July shutdown is a busy time of year.
