Poll: Should price be required in all for sale posts?

Some of the moderators have talked about this in the past, and recently a thread brought this back up.

I personally love the idea of having to list prices, but I'd like to get the communities feedback. Should prices being listed be a requirement for all parts posted in the classifieds?

I know some manufacturers don't allow the vendors to, but I think they should have to in the forums.

I am absolutely for vendors posting prices, I don't agree that they should be exempt due to manufacturer policies. I will not do business with people that don't post prices, vendors included. Y'all can form your own opinions about this issue..

So if the vendor has a contract with volk stating they will not sell volk wheels for under $500 a wheel, but will pm you a price of $300 per wheel, you wont do business? They don't not list prices to try and "Trick" you into a sale, they cant legally show the price publicly if its under their contract agreement.

I hate the personal ads that same PM me best offer, and when you do get a "Dont lowball me a stupid offer" reply... You asked for an offer, you got it. Everyone has a price in mind when they post up a for sale thread, so they should be required to put it.

I vote yes!!!! Everything that are being sold should have a price iMO!
When you go into a super market, you don't go to every employee and ask how much this or that cost? Everything thing has a price for it's own.

Yes, every advertisement here should have a price. In addition to this, some advertisements ask the buyer to make offers without posting an asking price. This is not ebay. It's not a problem if the seller will accept the best offer as long as he has posted a price to begin with.

Man did I ever get in sh*t once for not posting a price on the advrider forum. I honestly didn't know what the item I was selling was worth and was too lazy to look it up. It was an obscure piece of equipment on my bike. I was accused of unimaginable things as a result. So yeah...I guess posting a price will avoid bidding wars and alot of resentment. Use eBay if you want to start a bidding war

And that's fine and dandy, but I don't need the hassle of PM's back and forth. I can choose with whom I want to do business, and on what terms. No need to roll your eyes, I have my opinion and you have yours.

I generally view threads without a price as a "feeler". The seller is not that interested in selling the item, unless they get a really high price, which is counter to what I (as the buyer) am trying to achieve.

Vendors are different because of contractual obligations to not advertise prices below a certain number. It's a pain to have to PM 10 different vendors to get prices, but considering it can save several hundred dollars, it's worth it.

Unless Brian had something else in mind, this poll is only in reference to private classifieds.

I believe personal sales ads should include prices. I always skip the ones that can't seem to make up their mind on a price. How hard could it be?
