Illegal activity and thread closing
Is it possible for mods not close any thread related to illegal activity? I feel that many of these threads can be used as a tool to discourage future incidents. Basically, these illegal activity threads can be used as a learning tool. That's just my 2 cents though.

If someone posts a police report/news report about illegal activity I dont think that should be locked either.

I figured that was the questionable thread. I have posted a thread about a police report before too and it was also closed. Its confusing that you can post about a murder/robbery/etc and that seems to be ok, but posting about someone getting a speeding ticket and all the flags are flying?!?!?

Threads on many illegal activities would be closed - street racing, murders (unless it was a member here). Generally, my car was stolen/robbery threads are not closed.
I closed the racing thread because the comments are in the "what a ******" realm. Note, I did not trash the thread. So you can still read it, but not comment in it. I do not see what commenting in it could be beneficial to this site. Secondly, we have a no street racing policy here. That was a thread specifically about street racing, be it you or an article about someone doing it.

I think if its just locked it might as well be trashed. I'm sure many people would like to comment about how stupid the person was for driving in excess speed. It might make some of the kids on this site realize how dumb it is to be driving stupid.
Street racing using implies 2 or more cars. The thread only mentioned 1 car I thought, I'll go back and read it again, or does speeding = street racing?

Street racing entails - rally driving on public roads, individual or group racing on public roads, and any illegal driving that would either get ticketed or arrested.
