Misc "for sale" section?
I didnt know if we had or have a section like this.
Basically a for sale section where you can sell misc items. (paintball guns, couch, toilet plungers ect)
Deal or no deal?

This, and awhile ago, we decided that we wanted to keep the focus on car related items. Allowing people to sell whatever they want would create that many more potential situations for issues, and we figure we have enough of those as it is with the automotive for sale areas.

I can see how that could turn into a headache.
I suppose if you made a strict criteria for it (over 1yr mem, very good personal sales rating, mucho on topic posts ect) it wouldn't be that bad.
Oh well,it was just a suggestion.
(i was looking for a marker today and seen that they didnt have any sub forum for it so i was kinda bummed)

Your suggestion has actually been considered, as well, but not for some time. The previous owner was pretty resistant to the idea.

Sorry GDS, we've looked at the pros and cons with expanding the marketplace, but as the other Mods have said, it would really be too much for what is ultimately an automotive forum.

not trying to stir the pot or anything but i agree w/ the OP said . if you had a sub section for it i dont think it would become like a craigslist. on srtforums.com we have it and its not bad. only forum members use it on occasion . ive never seen some like random outsider use it.
like i said not trying to argue or stir the pot and i know you have thought of it.....and its late and im bored lol

Its ok fellas.
I know this forum likes to keep to its "roots"
On a side note
In my rx7 forums you have to meet a certain criteria just to post in the off topic section. (i believe its like 5 posts)
I would guess that would be helpful at keeping the trolls and solicitations out.
Just another sugg

I can see where they are coming from.
We have enough new users exploiting the post rule so that they can post in FS section. I couldn't imagine the headache a new criteria would be for mods.
