New HKS combo to be released soon - HKS 272intake and HKS 264 exhaust cam

HI guys,

some of you know that we have done several cars with a new HKS cambo combo.

The conventional combos are:
264in/264ex
264in/272ex
272in/272ex

And here is what WE HAVE TESTED: HKS 272 Intake and HKS 264 Exhaust cams

So far, we have done that combo on 2 cars with a piggy-back ECU, and 2 car swith AEM EMSs.

In both cases, the TORQUE increase is HUGE.

Dynocharts to come soon...

George

MAtt's car is one of the cars.

Snoop saw how he caught up to Doug after the bad launch, about 2-3 car lenghts. But on the topend, MAtt's intercooler was not nice to him. So they finsihed even.

On the highway, considering the air temp woul dbe same for both, both cars are dead even.

That is curious, I've never heard of that combo being used on a DSM before - I wonder what makes the Evo so different.

What advantage does this combo offer over a straight 272 setup? Is it idle quality only?

What combo gives the best low-end power (generally speaking) on the stock turbo?

Well, idle with the AEM and the 272/264 is LIKE stock.
Idle with a piggyback and that combo is like a big cam Vette - it is that mean!!!

Matt has the Greddy VSPL intercooler... He needs an R-SPL.

MAny people in teh UK have been running that 272/264 combo.

That one 272/264

HUGE low and midrange, same topend as the 272/272 car.

But again, wait several more days for some dyno comparisons.

Yes, the V-SPL is rated at 400HP ( not whp). Your car and Matt's car are way past that...

I'm too much of a bantamweight to run a 272 intake cam.

when you can post those dyno charts... Interesting combo... Ive been trying for 3 weeks now searching the boards etc on what cams to run... I will be using stock turbo for awhile about a year then upgraded turbo from buschur,ATP and yours boost-solutions so Im trying to decide on something that will be good for now and later....its a really hard decision... 272/272 good top end good for after market turbos minus a bit of torque down low... 264/264 good low to midrange, bit lower on the top...

264/272 best of both worlds?

now 272/264 mmm interesting
