AMS Sponsored EVO Win PIKES PEAK!

First I want to start out by saying how proud everyone here at AMS is for David and his wife Allison. Dave and Allison approached us about 9 months ago asking if we would work with them on a pikes peak project. To be honest we had no prior understanding of the event above what the average fan had. We had a good feeling about Dave and Allison and we thought they would do the AMS logo proud. David actually worked with us to test our rally brake kit and the first kit was on this car during it's record setting lap!

They surpassed what we EVER initially thought possible. Not only did Dave and Allison win their class and beat the old record in that class by over a minute but they were the fastest full framed / non tube framed car at the event. With a TT Class win and a 5th overall placing the Kern's put themselves into the Pikes peak record books for 2008!

AMS is making a much larger commitment to this team for 2009 so you can expect even greater things out of this husband and wife duo. Thank you again to David and Allison and on behalf of all the EVO community. Thank you for doing the three diamonds proud

Keep an eye out for a video we are editing here with Dave's footage. Dave has sent me a bunch of footage and already hosted a few on youtube. I am sure he can link them in here as well

Here is a full press release by David and Allison. Enjoy!

Eric

Nice job boys!

Some Subarus a few years back did a 11:39 and 11:43 with a 40mm restrictor, obviously a full frame car. Driven by Lovell and Lagemann respectively.

The Downforce for David's aero package produced approx 575 lbs @ 100 mph, and approx 260 lbs @ 70 mph.

Congrats Dave it was a pleasure working with your team this year!

Keep up the great driving, its amazing you drove such a fast time with only 300 HP and a full framed EVO

Wow, that's a lot. Is that total downforce? How much downforce does the splitter/canard set up and the wing have individually?
