Another insurance thread!!!! or is it?
So I have a perfect driving record and almost 21....I know there are A LOT of variables when it comes to insurance but on my old WRX through USAA was roughly $180.00/mnth... When I got my Z in July my insurance came out to only $88.00/mnth... I verified and re-verified with my insurance company that it's correct and it's full coverage...Now that I'm gettign rid of the Z and switching over to the EVO I thought I'd call up and see what my insurance comes out to be....Now I'm not really complaining because they are an excellent insurance company BUT they quoted me $169.00/mnth... now I knew logically it would've been more than the Z but why less than the WRX? Anyone else have a situation like this?

yea thats weird that it is lower than the wrx. I would definitely thought that it would have been more. But possibly because you are older now, you are a less risk driver so your insurance price overall might have dropped. Maybe if you had the evo when you had the WRX, the evo might have been more. thats just my thoughts. how long ago did you have the wrx?

through USAA I was paying 1600 for 6 months full coverage in California now I pay 300 full coverage for 6 months in NY. I dont know how that works maybe since I live on an Army post but I basically dont have to pay for insurance until 2 months before I have to renew.

300 for 6 months? I'm 29 with a clean record and I pay 850 for 6 months in MN. How can you go from 1600 to 300, doesn't make any sense. Maybe I need to move to NY, but you'd think insurance rates in NY would be higher than MN.

thats what I said but I had them check it over and over and it computes like I said its probably since I live on an ARMY post which is a bit more secure and I work down the street so my commute is 5 min because of lights and snow. USAA is pretty good at not screwing customers over

Also just a side note... I was quoted $260.00/mnth on a Z about 4 months prior to getting one...and then it came out to be $88.00/mnth. Now with logical thinking I calculated that's around a 295% difference that should make the evo's insurance only $57.63/mnth?!?!?! only time will tell....

Anybody know how to cover aftermarket parts on cars? I never really understood how people put $50k+ into a car and just have regular full coverage? or if they get a special insurance to cover everything?

All I know is that I pay 343.67 a month for insurance. I have a claim against my insurance for $223 cuz I rolled into someone's license plate behind me and it apparently broke it. Pissed me off, but my insurance is for 2 cars. The second car is a 92 geo prizm piece of garbage, so I dont know. I have horrible prices.
