Anyone know where that thread is? It looks like a bunch of vendors cried to EvoM because someone offers products at a lower price. Why the hell would EvoM discourage competitive pricing among vendors?

some of the more well known vendors threatened to stop doing business if yoparts stayed on these boards and the funny part was, their basis of conversation was its not fair that they offer parts at wholesale because.... we cant compete with those prices. Then a certain 3 letter company decided they were going to put their foot down and say its them or me or basically threaten the manufacturers with if you sell parts to those guys, ill stop selling your parts thru my shop. Pretty amazing how much pull some vendors have on this site and how much they get away with. In the end i think it was a bad decision by the owners. God forbid we get parts for cheap.... it was clearly a decision based on the benefit of the site not the benefit of its members.

she sure does.... oh well, i think what will manage to happen is certain vendors will end up losing some business. I for one am making plans on pulling a few parts off the car because of this and as many people as i refer to a few of the belly aching vendors, they've lost my respect, my business as well as all the referrals.

Definitely. The funny thing is that, from what I've gathered, AMS and others are paranoid about YO Parts growing and dominating, so they manipulate EvoM staff into removing the competition, therefore allowing AMS and others to dominate.

The YO Parts competitors that cried are being greedy and EvoM is encouraging it.

I didn't have much say in the whole ordeal as it didn't effect me directly since I am more of niche vendor but I could definitely see where some vendors were coming from...but do I blame yoparts for their business, absolutely not, I wish I would have thought of it myself...its interesting to see where things will head in the future with it all...the profit margins have certainly dropped drastically in past couple years on most parts due to all the competition making it nearly impossible to make a real living selling parts...

I think the "shops" that sell parts online are going to have trouble but the real shops that offer installation will be fine.
