Not to be captain obvious here, but I am guessing having a pump that pulses is not conducive to having a constant steady flow of meth and thus possibly a danger?

the pulsing action is like going 0 throttle to full throttle on your car, a few times a second.....

puts undue wear on pump brushes, the on demand swtich, the bearings within the pump - everytime it pulses, current draw from the pump motor spikes.

I wondered why the gauges were on the passenger side of that car, then I remembered you live in the UK, hehe.

That video really shows a lot of fluctuation in flow. Especially compared to my HFS-5 system which shows a smooth increase in flow as load increases untill where it holds rock steady with no flucations

I would like to confirm the system is boost based, "progressive pump speed" system. It appeared the the flow was decreasing after trigger.

The thread below has many video clips and discussions of progressive pump system. Warning: long and heated exchanges.

mapping the alkycontrol/ams progressive pump speed injection kit

thanks to dubbleugly01 for the loan of his pps system

Pump drive, signal drive, pump controller

Test setup

15GPH nozzle

Checkvalve

alkycontrol/ams 100w pump vs. 60w pump

Spray video - 3 volts and 5 tune, partial video

Result

video1
video2
video3
video4
video5
video6
video7
video8

if anyone has a snow or smc kit sitting around and wants to see how they perform, i can test it out for you.

What does the spray pattern look like? That would be what I'm interested in. Looks like you have a shrowd over the nozzle to contain overspray, and you can't really tell if the nozzle is doing a good job of atomization? What were your impressions of nozzle atomization? But based on flowrates measured, the 15 gph nozzle is putting out just about 15 gph at 5 volts. Spot on!

I plottted various flowrates at certain boost levels (based on a 3 bar map sensor) vs. the controller gain (the knob labelled from 0-8). Hope it helps show the linearity of the system. At 30#'s, it looks like you don't really have much adjustment over the alky delivered, it's basically maxe'd out at anything over a controller setting of 4.

All in all, it doesn't look too bad, rather good actually.

below ~500grams/500cc/min flow, the atomization is very poor - spray was more like droplets than atomization.

i wonder if it is possible to design the progressive controller to behave in a more linear/progressive manner?

When you use your "25 psi" checkvalve like you do, combined with a 60 psi pump you have a max range of 35 psi. Its no wonder you had **** poor results.

Both of these videos were done using our new failsafe and our system. A flow sensor would monitor the flow and return that value to the varicool to be reported on screen. If I had used a 60 psi pump, there wouldnt be these results.

Not dangerous at all - but a rough "feel"

An even flow is obviously going to give you that turbine like feel

I have been very impressed with the Auqamist kits particularly the HFS-1 which is a kit I have a real soft spot for

Abner - you have really outdone yourself here

I would like to donate a brand "x" kit for your testing if you have time ?
