Mitchubishi: Taped Up My Car for the TRACK, with a crazy twist...
So I'm off to St. Loius ina few hours for the Redline Time Attack; for me it;s mainly the HPDE lappign day on saturday, so I can finally use this robispec suspension of mine . Like anyone who cares for their paint, I wanted to tpe up the front bumper, hood, mirrors, and the such, so I did...
The my girlfriend comes up with a crazy idea...how about tape up the whole car? My reply was "Sure, if you want to....but you're doing it". Her response?
-"Fine. I'll do it. It'll be hilarious"
My friends, do not doubt women. The following is by far the funniest thing I've ever done....
How much tape was used? About 5 total rolls. Left most is a new one and I forgot to put another partially used roll in this shot.
Yeah. This is real . Lots of 3M Automotive tape and 3.5 hours later (two people working) and this is the result.
SPECIAL THANKS: My Girlfriend for thinking of this and following through, Peter (Kordyte) for the front bumper, and 3M for making 2 inch wide tape...would've taken even longer had it been smaller .
Track pics should be hilarious.
-Mitch

LMAO!!!!!! OMG, thanks for the laugh. Now you really dont have to worry about your paint. Leave it to the GF to think of taping the whole car. BTW-this was not a flame, you made me laugh that is all.
+one on the marker idea! Get your friends and family to tag that ish up!

And... just thought of this. Wouldnt the heat from the hood especially around the vent melt the tape?
Maybe it would've looked better without taping the window trim? dunno...
and.. dare I say it.. the Evo VII tails actually look BAD now, haha. I love them on TB, but here I think IX tails would be better looking

Great stuff Mitch. When I drove up to AMS to get tuned I taped my front end, (bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors), to try to save the paint a little from the rocks and the bugs!!!
Keep us posted with pics from the event, take a couple of the AMS EVO to share with us, hahaha!!!
Have a safe and fun weekend!!!
