11s w/ $1000 invested

I was able to set a new personal best this weekend and reached my goal that I had set for the entire season. My ETs are poor for my trap speed, but I was cutting 1.64 - 1.68 60s all day on my bald Hankook Icebear snow tires.

I was being a dufus and not trusting my wideband. It was pegging out at 10:1 (it is an AEM so that is as low as it reads ) The car was obviously pig rich, so I pulled a ton of fuel out and BAM...beyotch woke up in 3rd and 4th gear.

11.96 @ 117.77
11.98 @ 118.76
12.00 @ 119.10

The more fuel I pulled out, the higher my MPH went up. Right now I am still dead rich at 10.2:1 and my timing map is the stock map. I'm really happy being that I have about $500 in power mods in my car and right at $1000 total with my ACT clutch. I am running a stock map, stock air filter, stock turbo, stock boost, etc. Basically I have an open downpipe that I made for $28 and a 50 shot wet kit on an otherwise stock car.

I am loading up really bad in 1st and 2nd and my 1/8th mph is down bad. My best 1/8th mph has been off the bottle, but I am hauling the mail at the top of the track picking up 31mph every pass. Here is one pass for example:

60: 1.671
330: 4.97
1/8: 7.70 @ 87.56
1/4: 11.98 @ 118.76

I'm going to optimize this map and get my AFRs around 11.2:1 and give it some timing and hope to get mid 11s @ over 120 on straight 93 octane. I'll update this when I go back and try a little more aggressive timing map and pull some fuel. Then I have a nice head and cams to install and go from there.

My car weighs just over 3500 with me (6'4 260 lbs....need to lay off the )

Ah, I was impressed until you said a 50 shot. Anyone can do that, so it's really not impressive. The guys in PR ran 10.9s with bolt-ons and a small shot.

I knew this was coming I do shift like a one armed girl and I'm sure with some basic bolt-ons I could be a little stronger. I admitted that the ET sucked but was pretty happy with the MPH and I certainly have room to work with my stock map. You always bash people but never ask what other EVOs run at the same tracks.

There's a 35R EVO here on the board that runs E85 and made 500+ at BR and runs high 11s @ 122 (real nice guy I forget his name). There were a couple 35R Talons on race gas running mid-high 11s, and my friend's BR4+ was running 11.99-12.1 @ 113-115.

Bottom line: My car went 119 mph on straight 93 with $1000 total investment and was running close to cars that weigh several hundred lbs less, making more power, and running race gas. I'm pretty happy, but I certainly expected some flak. Oh and that is great on that car in PR...they always have amazing ETs down there.

Maybe I'll walk over to ORP next week and say hi to you at WW. I am anxious to see if you are as big of a douchbag in person as you are to people on here. Maybe we can line them up?

Thanks Doc. I wish I had signed up for WW just for fun, but I thought I was going to be out of town. I'll be there to watch and let me know if you need a helping hand. Though I am glad I am out of the event promotion business...I would be fine if you didn't need help

not really worth comparing unless you drove the cars.. i know people running 11.4's on 24psi GT30s (safe safe tunes) sooo turbo size dont matter if you cant drive

Nothing you said there means anything. Anyone can run a 50-shot in an Evo and gain ~90whp. That's just how it works. Do something without the nitrous and let us know. As for spending $1000, I went 12.000 with $925 spent on an 05 _without_ nitrous. Fortunately, I know how to drive, so I didn't need 119mph to do it...I only needed 113.

Anyway, the point is that it's lame to talk about how little money you've spent when the majority of your power gains are from nitrous. Everyone knows it's cheap and can gain a ton of power. Also, anyone can just remove the exhaust and claim they spent no money, but that's also lame. My costs included exhaust parts. I could have just removed the exhaust and said I spent $500 total. Hell, don't include my pocketlogger, and we're down to $350. Oh, and guess what...there was no EcuFlash, so I couldn't flash myself for free either. Give me EcuFlash and remove the cost of my SAFC, and I'm down to $250!!! Wow, 12 flat on $250, I rock!!! See how lame that is? If you went 11s on $1000 spent on real mods, then it would be worth bragging.

You are right...I'm lame. Lame and happy with my car I suppose. Somehow it is ok for people to run low 11s @ low 120s on race gas or meth with over 500whp on here...I see it all the time. But running close to that on pump with nitrous is like a sin.

If it is any consolation, I did run 12s stock @ only 102 and last week 12.1 @ 110. My car hasn't always been high on MPH...I just found some power with a smaller fuel jet. I never claimed to be an all star...like some.

Warr you never have anything positive to say to anyone. Constructive criticism is good, maybe some pointers, but you are always a know-it-all ***** to everyone. Do you get some sort of satisfaction treating people poorly? I can't believe they allow you to be here after all the BS people have to hear. Maybe you can take her down the track next week and see what it does with God's hands on the wheel

nod.

His point is, for little money you do not need a big turbo to run small numbers.
