If anyone is interested, I found out last night from Bez, that its possible to log waste gate duty cycle in EvoScan/Mitsulogger. Here is the code that I added to the EvoScan "Data.xml" file:

For Mitsulogger, add:

<Request LogReference="WGDC" RequestID="86" Eval="x/2" Unit="%" Response="2" logged="Y"/>

This logs WGDC as % duty cycle. For someone trying to control boost with the stock BCS, I think that this can be a valuable tool in figuring out what changes to make.

I'm also seeing if Bez can find a way to be able to log the "turbo boost error correction" value too. That would also be very helpful in controlling boost with the stock BCS.

Here's a log I took this morning after a bit of WGDC tuning. Still need more work. Trying to get the boost spike under better control and get a smoother boost and load curve.

Great news... are you using this with a drilled pill or totally removed?

Since I'm a little late on this bandwagon, are there any other modified definitions people are using? If so is there any way we could start a combined thread with the modification code and a brief description so someone could look at that and be up to date?

It's nice to see this kind of collaborative effort by the enthusiast... it makes for a great community.

BTW... this isn't really modified code. It's just info to add the item to many of the loggers out there. It already exists in the ECU of the car. You would add this, or a version of it, to your loggers XML file.

hehe. Just did that this evening. :-) And I raised the MWGDC a bit prior to the spike to promote earlier boost. Seems to have worked. Still have some waviness that I haven't been able to eliminate.

Thanks, I meant a more specific one for each logger and state whether certain upgrades will have that parameter logged (ie - Evoscan - WGDC - Post Code - Not included up to revision 0.98). That way the person can quickly update their specific version and not have to dig around through pages of posts or duplicate something that may be included on a more recent version. It could just be that I'm lazy, but I think it might be helpful for people coming into this fresh so that they're loggers are up to date with all the vets around here.

this runs Ok in Mitsilogger, I've only run the demo mode as I'm no where near the car, I'm not sure about the scaling thought so please bear that in mind.

MRfred -- What target load / offset are you using and what are your correction factors? The correction factors may be too extreme for your setup, causing the wave. Finally, what load are you hitting in the 3 - 5K range? Thanks

See, that's the beauty of logging WGDC. If you have a look at my plot that you quoted, the WGDC curve is smooth, meaning that the ECU made no sharp WGDC adjustments that could induce the fluctuations in load/boost. (For comparison, have a look at the first plot in this thread where the ECU makes a sharp adjustment in WGDC at 3300-3400 rpm.)

Load (divided by 10) is in the plot. I'm holding about 240 load from 3100 rpm out to 5500-6000 rpm.
