Thumbs up Buschur Racing FMIC

With a bunch of the threads showing damaged Buschur FMIC, I thought I would post up a few pics of just how well these things are packaged by Buschur.

There are cardboard protectors on the front and back. There are also cardboard angles that protect all the corners and sides of the IC. Also there are PVC caps that protect the inlets out outlets of the IC. Finally there was about 1/2 ton of newspaper and bubble rap in the box.

As far as the power goes it is difficult to say since I installed both this FMIC and a Buschur Turbo Back exhaust at the same time. Obviously the car was much faster after the install but I don't know how much of that power was attributable to each part.

However, I can say that the difference in the way the car feels on a warm day is unreal. When the car had the stock FMIC a warm day really pissed me of. I almost did not want to take the Evo out because to me it felt much slower than during a nice cool night. After installing the FMIC this is no longer the case. Now the difference between a cool night and a hot day is almost non existent.

On a side note I have never been able to feel any heat on this IC with my hand. If i do a few really hard pulls the inlet side will get pretty warm but the outlet and even the core itself is always ice cold. I was thinking about getting one of those no2 Coolers for the FMIC but I no longer see a point as it just does not get hot, plain and simple.

Here are a couple of pics of the install. I did not take many as it happened so quickly. This is by far one of the most straight forward installs I have ever done. There was no problems or complications of any kind. The bolt holes all lined up perfectly. I was even surprised by how well the IC pipes lined up. I have installed IC's before and it sometimes requires a lot of pushing and pulling to get the couplers lined up and tightened down. These went on without any problems. I bought the Buschur LICP but I kept the stock UICP. The second pic shows the IC with the stock LICP as I wanted to see if it would fit with the stock piping and it did. So if you buy this you can choose to either keep your stock piping or get new piping. Although with the serious neck downs on the stock LICP you would be a fool to get a nice big FMIC and keep the stock LICP.

Here is an updated pic that really showcases the Race IC

Here is one last pic with the Mesh on the Bumper in place.

Thanks, but these pics are actually a few months old. I installed the IC during the fall but I never got around to posting these pics.

Odd, all that work to package the FMIC, and no love for the DP.

Its about time they put PVC caps on the inlet and outlet pipe of the FMIC to protect it.

I must agree as I also got their race core and not only did it arrive quick but it was packaged so well it took me a few min to open it. As far as power as soon as Dave tunes it we'll know.
