GSC Releases our New S1 Cams for the Evo 9 Dyno inside!

Over the last few months we have been testing and designing some new grinds for the evo 8's and 9's and boy have we found some power. We have gone so far as to test valve train harmonics(using stock parts and aftermarket items), spring pressures of the stock springs, seat pressures, cone pressures, coil bind, valve stability, Rocker Arm tensile strength, Flow rates, mivec map setups, moved lifts around, played with ramp rates, peak lift, and center lines. So what does all this mean to our customers? The BEST possible cam setups for the evo's 4g63!

We have discussed different customer car setups with our vender's trying to design Cams to fit their customer’s needs, thanks to AMS, Machines Gone Wild, TTP, Top Speed, and a few others.

With the New Year coming our evo 9 customers and evo 8 customers will see 3 different profiles. S1, S2, and S3 cams. These cams will be sold only in pairs.

The S1 Grinds are now finished. The S1 grind for the Evo 8 and Evo 9 are designed with the stock turbo in mind. Stock Computer and Stock Valve Train.

The Evo 4-8 S1 cams are identical to our 272/264 setup. These cams work perfectly with the stock turbo so we aren’t changing them.

The Evo 9 S1 cams are just awesome! The cams are suited to the stock turbo and valve train. We have made the gains and are super excited for these to be released next week.

Spec’s
Intake, 268 advertised duration 217 @ .040 with a peak lift of 10.98 lift
Exhaust, 260 Advertised duration 208 @ .040 with a peak lift of 10.3 Lift

Dyno Sheets
Comparing the Same Car with Stock Cams, With a TBE, Boost Controller, and Drop in Air Filter. @ 21psi no adjustments to the timing map were made. The Air Fuel of these two graphs are different. By almost a full point. this is to show what a set of cams, and a light tune will do for your car. Basically all that was done to the car as far as tuning is the air fuel being cleaned and some slight mivec advancing. NO TIMING ADJUSTMENTS WE MADE

This graph compares the same car with our 280/272 setup at an 11.5 air fuel at 22psi compared to the S1 car at 11.8 air fuel at less boost 21psi. We have changed the Mivec map by 2 full degree’s between 3500-6500 with the new cams. Timing map remains unchanged from stock.

What happened if you bought the S1 cams for stock turbo IX, and later down the road you upgraded your turbo would this be a problem?

no it wont be a problem at all. the S2's are designed for more peak power and a slower spooling turbo. the S1's if used with an aftermarket turbo just wont get the same peak numbers that the S2's will, but will still perform wounderfully.

The car actually made 344whp and 324tq on one pull on a mustang dyno after letting the car cool down a little while . The numbers posted were from a after making a couple pulls on the dyno .

My car is night and day compared with the new S1 cams over the previous ones . The car pulls hard all the way through the rpm range ! I'm very happy with these in the car and the way it feels !

I am all for continious improvement however I feel bad for hundreds of IX owners who bought GSC Mivec cams that were brought in to the market just a month ago. now there is a new an improved version that makes considerable more power after a few weeks?

anyways, more power to you guys for improving your previous mivec cam design in such a short time!

Yeah, I'm kinda bummed that I just had the 280/272 combo installed a week ago and now you come out with these. A little notice would have been nice, I would have waited.... not like money grows on trees....

Thanks...
