I agree with your review, it is a great tire.

My only choice for track day fun!

Awesome review. I might try those once I wear down the advans on my track rims.

Thanks!

I really want to hear from RA1 > NT01 converts.

How do the two compare?

From what I heard the RA1 and NT01 are very similar in compound but the NT01 has a stiffer sidewall..which is a good thing imo.
I'm hoping they come out with a 255/40/17 though.

See, that's my thing, and maybe many other's. I'm not to the point yet where I want every ounce of grip that I can out of my tires. If I'm spending the dollars on the tires, I'd rather go with the one that is going to last longer.

I cant remember exactly but I got 6+ track days and couple of trips to LA and back on the NT01's... from memory they seemed to wear similar to the RA-1's.

I do tend to wear my tires faster than most people though, excessive camber and aggressive driving.

Nils... do you shave them? also.... outside of being sponsored by Nitto.... do they honestly have better grip than an RA-1? I'm trying to pick my next time trial tire. And how would they stack up with a Hoosier R6?

Anyone fit the 275/40/17 on 17x9 wheels ??

'was' sponsored by Nitto

I have done back to back driving from RA-1 to NT01 and they feel like they have better grip. Even Mark Daddio noted how fast of a R-Dot they were compared to others.

Hoosier R6 is obviously faster than the Nitto's but they are only good for 2 track days a tthe most.

I honestly like the NT01's and will run them unless I get some other tires for free. Put it this way, if I had to buy a set of R-dot's right now.. I'd buy the NT01's.

n

btw - I didnt shave my set, they became alot faster when worn down a bit, but the tread blocks are pretty fat, pretty fast right out of the box.

Coming from one of the "credible" sources, i'll give them a try. Now i need to see if these 275's will fit.

Thanks for the info
