My 94 Mirage to evo conversion.

and no its not just a body kit haha. i was doing this last night then i accidentally hit backspace and lost everything...and i was so close to being done! oh well here we go again! The car is a 94 Mitsu Mirage sedan which shares the same body style as the 1g Lancers/Evos (Evo 1-3). So what i did was bought a Front clip from a vendor in LA for 3900 which included all body panels ( hood, full Evo 1 body kit, trunk with evo 1 spoiler, doors with windows and panels, fenders), Evo 1 4G63 similar to the eclipse gst/gsx but different, awd transmission, front and rear brakes and suspension, front evo 1 recaros, right hand drive dash and all components, original OZ rallys w/ tires, and rear subframe and prop shafts for awd conversion. for everything i got 3900 was a steal, he brought it in the back of a pick up truck from LA to san antonio Texas.

So we start this conversion a year ago (march 11th, 2005 to be exact) and went at it from there. here are a hand full of pictures from beginning to where its at now. i would have more complete but this january i had a fall and now i have a herniated disk in my back which has made it impossible for me to work on the car or do anythign that i used to. ENJOY!

The day i got it (october 9th 2003, my 17th birthday)

Inside (to show you that it was actually left hand drive before)

4G15 engine

Front clip

labor was all done be me and my friends. i forgot to mention that no shops have been involved besides the welding shop i worked out of which belongs to a relative. so far ive spent around 9-10 grand on it including everything. man hours that have gone into this... i have no idea but to get an idea we worked 2 weeks straight 9am-2am for all those days. then after we did alot of "debugging" which took a few weeks to get everything working correctly. ive asked one of my friends, who works at a auto shop that does custom work, about how much they would charge and he was like he wouldn't even know because they have never done anything like that lol but he was guessing anywhere from 10 grand -15 grand on labor alone. its a hell of a lot of work its crazy to think about it haha

that is the most extreme case of not an evo trying to be an evo , but u actually practically created an evo. atleast u gave it some power to go with the agressive look, nice job

That's so awesome. How is the car registered/what does the title say? I would guess it's still registered as a Mirage, right?
