Gear Box Shift Monitor - WRC Style

Gear Box Shift Monitor - WRC Style
Hi guys,
Long time ago I came across the Gear Box Shift Monitor, I wanted to get one but I lost the magazine that I read all about it. Finally I came across of this product again and definitely I’m getting one myself. You can use it for racing, show, even street driving.
Basically it displays actual gear you are driving on, on top of that it changes the color of the display from green through yellow to red depending on the RPM. I almost forgot, it has one more feature, yes it does have a shift light.
The way this monitor works is fairly simple, the signal at a given RPM is compared with the signal at a given speed and it is displayed on the monitor as an actual gear you are driving on. You will only need 4 wires to be connected. +12V, GND, Engine RPM, and Vehicle Speed Sensor.
This product can be used on any car (even Diesel), it doesn’t matter if it has automatic or manual transmission. Although it has to be a fuel injected vehicle.
If you have questions about this product don’t hesitate to ask I’ll try to answer the best I can, if I cannot I will contact the person who designed it.
Since I’m getting one myself I was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting one as well. I’m still in the process of negotiation with the person who actually designed this monitor on the price and other details. As of right now the price would be approximately $110 but it might change depending on what kind of deal he can give me as well as how many units I would get from him. To start I’m thinking about 10 units. So if anyone interested please let me know and when all is fair and square I will give you definitive answer on the price.
BTW, here is the picture of the Gear Box Shift Monitor.
UPDATE:
5 new units are available and ready for immediate shipment, please PM me for more details.

can you show pics of it in the car. if you are talking to the manufacture try to set up a group buy. I am interested. looks like a good product. i had a few times when I thought I was in second when I was actually in 4th doing a right turn. it would be nice to see what gear I am really on.

OK I got 3 links, first is a quick snap shot of how you program the device, the other two are the actual movies from onboard cameras during a rally event. The programming one is preaty short, about 0.5MB the other two a little bigger around 30MB

Why would you need this ion a regular shifter. It doesnt make any sense to me. I cant think of a time where i have forgetten what gear my car is in. On a sequential shifter it would make sense but not on a stock shifter.

How does it read max rpms? I.E. can we set it for our optimal shift points - say 7600 rpm? And I noticed that it has sound, I assume that can be turned off - correct?
Im asking because I could use a shift light, and if they are about the same price, so for the added feature of gear selection with colors and a shift light, that would be somewhat cool.
If the price is around $100, Id be in also.

I don't mean to high-jack this thread, but I have these units in stock in the US including manual in English. If anyone is interested in immediate delivery PM me.
I have plenty of videos of this thing since I had one in my car for several months.

I have 4 on the way, because he had those on hand. I have placed an order for 20 (total) but I can ask him to make more if I find enough interest, and it looks that I may do this. Now, the wait for this product might be a little frustrating to some. Those 4 on the way, I'm expecting to be in my house in 2 weeks, the rest of them are being made as we speak, so I think not more than 4 weeks (unfortunately it is comming from Europe that is why the delay.) Once again, if I get enough interest and you are ready to wait for a little let me know so I can update him on the order. From what I heard, it is worth the wait.

so the current engine rpm and speed sensor wires among the some of the others might have to be spliced into this system?

OK guys good news, I have received 4 units, I have 16 more on the way and bunch more that are beeing made. Unfortunately they take so long because all of them are done by hand, and they are comming from the Europe. So I decided to postpone mine untill the other shipment arrives and release the four that I got. I will be sending PM to the first guys and wait for their respond, if nothing happens we will do as I said in the previous post.

OK, let me do this this way now, I am expecting a delivery of 10-15 units this week, and then some more in 2 weeks. So whoever sends me the payment first gets the toy sooner. Now please, whoever sends me the paypal payment could you please include additional $3.50 (paypal fee) on top of $110. Honestly, I'm not making any money on this. I was thinking of jumping the price of the unit, but for all EVO lovers I decided not to. So at this very moment even $3.50 counts. Anyway I will send everyone a PM in the morning as a reminder and we will see how this evolves.
