Gear Box Shift Monitor - WRC Style
Hi guys,
Long time ago I came across the Gear Box Shift Monitor, I wanted to get one but I lost the magazine that I read all about it. Finally I came across of this product again and definitely I’m getting one myself. You can use it for racing, show, even street driving.
Basically it displays actual gear you are driving on, on top of that it changes the color of the display from green through yellow to red depending on the RPM. I almost forgot, it has one more feature, yes it does have a shift light.
The way this monitor works is fairly simple, the signal at a given RPM is compared with the signal at a given speed and it is displayed on the monitor as an actual gear you are driving on. You will only need 4 wires to be connected. +12V, GND, Engine RPM, and Vehicle Speed Sensor.
This product can be used on any car (even Diesel), it doesn’t matter if it has automatic or manual transmission. Although it has to be a fuel injected vehicle.
If you have questions about this product don’t hesitate to ask I’ll try to answer the best I can, if I cannot I will contact the person who designed it.
Since I’m getting one myself I was wondering if anyone would be interested in getting one as well. I’m still in the process of negotiation with the person who actually designed this monitor on the price and other details. As of right now the price would be approximately $110 but it might change depending on what kind of deal he can give me as well as how many units I would get from him. To start I’m thinking about 10 units. So if anyone interested please let me know and when all is fair and square I will give you definitive answer on the price.
BTW, here is the picture of the Gear Box Shift Monitor.
UPDATE:
5 new units are available and ready for immediate shipment, please PM me for more details.

can you show pics of it in the car. if you are talking to the manufacture try to set up a group buy. I am interested. looks like a good product. i had a few times when I thought I was in second when I was actually in 4th doing a right turn. it would be nice to see what gear I am really on.

OK I got 3 links, first is a quick snap shot of how you program the device, the other two are the actual movies from onboard cameras during a rally event. The programming one is preaty short, about 0.5MB the other two a little bigger around 30MB
