Installed Finally
#39
my setup was put together part by part.
The screen is a in-dash 7" touchscreen from digitalww.com
motherboard and cpu is the VIA EPIA M10000
512 DDR memory (fry's)
The dvd drive you see below my headunit is CW-8123 Panasonic slim drive put in an external case.
GPS reciever was from Ebay, Hard drive was also from Ebay.
Power supply is fed by an Opus Solutions 150W dc/dc. it turns on the computer when the key is on and turns off when the key is out (proper shut down).
If you are decent with computers, i suggest doing the work yourself and saving a lot of money. My install cost less than $1,000. not bad at all for what i can do with it. There are companies that sell in car computers like DRIVESOFT. They are CRAZY expensive though.
Look for a company called DICE Inc. I know the owner and he's the one who helped a lot with my install. His product and website are almost ready (mid April). www.digitalicetechnology.com
Let me know what else your guys want answered. This was a week project and I loved doing the work. If you have the time, start planning!
