February 13 2005- we ride
We have been talking about this in the southern meet thread for a little bit, and we are going to do this on Sunday the 13th of February. the route to be taken is as follows.
10 AM- leave from Fred Meyers on Cornelius pass road off of highway 26 in Hillsboro Or.
Travel west on highway 26 toward Seaside, to junction 53. approx 50 miles
Take highway 53 (one of the best roads around, with all sorts of crazy hairpins, and other quick turns) approx 15 miles
Hook back up with highway 101, near nehalem, and continue south on 101 through tillamook
Take the "three cape scenic route" following the coastline, passing sandlake
Hook back up with 101, and then head west toward the eugene, corvalis, or salem area, (not sure which route would be best)
eat in salem somewhere, and head back towards the portland area on I-5
i think this will be a great drive, and i hope we can get a good turnout. i have asked tward to post us some maps of variable side routes, and anyone opinion is more than welcome. i would love to see around 20 or so cars again, including members from the newly formed nw evolutions club (sorry if i got your name wrong) i also think we should invite one or more of the following VW vortex, nasioc, or the SRT guys again. they seemed to be more than willing to do this again. the weather at the worst will be rain, but we can have fun anyway, and if we get enough cars we could split into groups so that drivers arent stuck driving faster or slower than they are comfortable with. the route choosen is because it is mostly a round trip whether you leave from the eugene area, or the portland area. any imput you all have is greatly welcomed. i hope to see everyone there.

Ok, as requested by evolved04, I have worked my photshop/mapping/webpage skillz and done a little work for y'all. The distance from Beaverton to Beaver, OR (close to where the 3 Capes Scenic Byway lets out) is about 120 miles. Here's some maps and other info:

if the images are too large, let me know and I can shrink them down a bit.
