Sport Compact Pro Sponsorship

I just got a call from sport compact pro and I was offered a sponsorship position...
Lots of money towards my lancer, 50% off parts, discount labor.

I just have to pay for the contract and make 4 events a year... oh and wear 2 7" decals.

Should I go for it or not.. I'm gunna have my lawyer look at the contract once its mailed out, but what do you guys think?

Sponsorship NEVER requires you to pay for a contract.. Something is fishy..

Yeah I thought sponsorships were just that, sponsorships, they give you parts in exchange for exposure. It'd be like Tiger woods having to pay to wear a nike shirt and use nike clubs.

what is the point of a "Sponsership" if you have to be paid to be sponsered...? dude think about it.... not dissin on OZ,ES,LS..... ( I have an OZ) but if it was such a good deal... why not sponsor an EVO? more potential and more power!? ya know.... think about it, and yes get it looked at.... just dont want our lancer buddies getting scam thats all...

I've NEVER dealt with a sponsor that ASKED for money for a contract.. Thats not legit.. I've had sponsors who gave steep discounts on their parts that I bought, but those arent full sponsorships.

Its like at the cardomain site, there are banners that say "Are you Sponsared?" then u click it and u gotta fill out a form. You enter all this info and at the bottom it askes for CC info. They have a side note. You will only be charged the 89 fee if you get sponsored. the Money recieved is between 500 - 15000 i think. really i don't like how it sounds.

How did you come about this "oppurtunity"... have you done anything special to your car to receive attention, or is this some offer anybody could get... I guess I'd be leary if the car was bone stock...

Yet another one saved. Maybe we should bump one of these threads on a weekly basis so people see it more often.

heard about it and did it. let me guess you contacted them and they said oh your apporoved for this much $$$ right. ITS A SCAM. flat out. do some research and try to find out where there place is saying you want a visit. i had 3 of these, 2 in NJ and 1 in cali. in the end you will find the phone numbers never match addresses. don't waste your 85 bucks, yep thats right i am willing to bet they want 85 for "account setup" or some bull**** like that. go buy a strut tower brace and know that you didn't get caught in there scam.

Yeha, I got fooled by the old "Racer X Motorsports" sponsorship that was last year......same concept though. I send in my car info, they give "discounts" and I have to pay $80. The only thing is I NEVER heard from them again after I sent my money...
If it's too good to be true or too easy, don't do it

Adam
