Car & Driver Supercar Magazine

JUst picked up the C&D November issue while in PA yesterday. The article is pretty good (mostly a summary of what's been posted on here so far) but something I really liked was the graphic at the end. It clearly lays out side by side the results broken down, and you can see how Vishnu's car kicked royal butt in everything except the 100-150mph. 5 seconds behind the CTS-V, yet only lost by .2 seconds overall. Once again, congrats on the showing, and we all do know that you should have won

Yea and you should know it took me two tries to get it into 5th gear on that run (because of a "well seasoned" syncro). which helps explain part of the slower 100-150 run. We could have finished 1st in class and fourth (maybe third) overall. Oh well...pleased as is though

Oh really? That's very interesting...

I wonder how a 2.4L stroker would have done in the same competition... That would have helped the spool on the GT35 for sure! Plus the added torque on 93 octane couldn't have hurt!

Guess we'll have to wait for the next one-lap, eh?

Shiv, Vishnu's staff, and Paul proved a lot with this competition, for what was the least expensive entry running on a stock bottom end with power adders which could eventually be formed into a resellable staged package they proved their point for sure, possibly even moreso then a more expansively modified car may have. Thanks to all involved for helping better the EVOs already solid reputation here in America and making us all look that much smarter for having made the purchases we have.

Congrats to VISHNU

I had fun reading the Articule the amassing part was the EVO best lap 48.5s was right there with the 2004 twin turbo Viper SRT10 that has 800hp with 850TQ that finished 3rd in the open class with lap time of 48.5

The fact is the 55k evo finished less than second behind the 2004 Hennessey Venom Viper (47.6) the winner of the open class. Next year if the IC piping stays on with the new MR I would expect a top three in the open class.

I am very proud to have VISHNU tunning and this articule does a great job of showing that EVO may just be the best bang for the buck car ever made

Proud EVO owner

Just to make notice, C&D online has full detailed results posted on its website.

Car and Driver Supercar Challenge

Fun article. 0-60 in 3.35 seconds , take that twin turbo vettes and vipers. I like how they comment on Shiv Vishnu (aka Shiv Pathlak ) was trying to brown nose the referee/editor.

Thanks for the kind words!

We actualy use clamps that have more clamping force then T-bolts. The problem was a hose issue more then a clamp issue. A new hose, even with the old clamps fixed things up with no problem. Moral of the story: No matter how hard you squeeze silicone, if it's bad, it will distroy your day every time.
