13.460 @ 98mph :)

I drove 60 miles to Beaver Springs raceway (www.beaversprings.com), teched and ran within 5 minutes...so my engine was fairly warm.... anyway... 6500rpm drop and off I went... I will scan in the slip later, but

R/T- 1.591 (ahahah... i was concentrating)
60' 1.805
1/8th 8.539 @ 80.41
1/4 13.46 @ 98.06

I was shifting at about 7700rpm which probably wasn't the best way....... and entire hour+ later, i got my second run...car was nice and cool, etc.....AND I PHUCKING MISSED 3RD GEAR.... but my trap speed on that run was 100.53

Second run - with the missed 3rd gear and shifting right at 7000rpm

60' 1.884
1/8th 8.965 @ 76.05
1/4 13.997 @ 100.53mph

If I had any patience I would have waited another 75 minutes for a 3rd run, but I needed to get back to play with my kids, etc....
I would imagine with a cool car and the right driving a 13.2 would be in the cards for sure.

Scot

edit - o ya... my car is 100% totally stock. Tires are roughly 32psi cold and i have 800 miles on the car. Today is a perfect day though...55F and no wind.

no, but the car was parked for over 1 hour so it was way way cooler than the first run. I would guess my 2nd run would have been 13.3X at 102mph+ had I not mis-shifted. the wind was coming from the side..... the track faces exactly west (a headwind is normal there).

Seems everone is proving the SCC Evo wasn't a "ringer" afterall. The best they got was a 13.34 but they couldn't back it up and 13.5's were their best. Everyone is getting 13.5's pretty easy it seems.
I might take mine next week.

BTW, I'm glad I'm in the midwest where we can get 94 octane at the pumps
I was about to run out of gas last night and put in a little 92 because it was the only station open...it actually didn't run as good..idle was even rough..

What gas are you running? Nice 60ft. It seems that shifting at lower revs will provide a better time.

i had 3/4 of a tank of something (most likely 93), then i topped it off with 94 (3 gallons). then I drove 60 miles.... I left the spare in, had 3/4 of a tank of gas and the car was driven non stop to the track.

I know "if If's and butts were candies and nuts, o what a christmas"....but.... a cool car with minimal gas, etc... will certainly be faster than my numbers.

i odn't know about that, i mean i've been driving AWD cars for years and I ran with 1/4 tank of 98-99 octane gas, launches were beautiful, zero bog, and I could only manage concistant back to back 13.5's hot motor or cold motor (same track where WS6's were pulling 13.8-14.0 so it might be some tracks read fast or slow, but I know I shouldn't have had the octane that high and the fuel wasn't burning as clean as it should do to it being so high. I dont know, the track I time mine at is weird... a friend of mine ran a stock 100,000+ miles non-vtec prelude and hit a faster time then a 98 GSR (14.9 sec gsr stock) and gsr's are pretty quick for what they are. I'm trying to keep up with other times and average out reasonable times. I jsut find it amaizing that you ran a 13.4 with a slower trap speed then me.... i must be loosing alot of traction at the line who knows....

my first run (in my opinion) was hampered due to me running it up to 7700pm (roughly). I did not miss a beat on that first run.

There was a 2003 Mach 1 mustang that spun like mad to a 15.73 @ 99mph.... that was funny as hell.....ya, I only beat him by 2.3 seconds.

o ya... what evavation were you running? The track where I went is about 500 feet above sea level.

In general, I'd rev 1st gear out pretty far without hitting the limiter. Hit the limiter and your run is over. 1st gear is so short and you have much better torque multiplication in 1st than any other gear.

In every other gear, I'd rev out to 6800 or so.

I totally agree.... some thought afterwards...i think my high shifting helped for 1st gear and possibly 2nd, but certainly not in 3rd...... which could explain my slower trap speed but better et than some other people's runs.
