1/4 times with EVO...

Went to Mid-Michigan this morning. There wasn't hardly anyone there. There were more GTP's than anything, like 9-10 of them. I used to own a GTP but moved on so it was kind of cool to see them runnning, and to run against them. At first I didn't do well at all because I was really nervous being the first time I drag raced a manual...

1st run- terrible!!!! I was really nervous, and it was my first time
R/T.....936
60.....2.678
1/8....9.753
MPH....81.05
1/4....14.703
MPH...102.34

2nd- Got much better, a little more relaxed and confident...
R/T.....1.229
60.....2..109
1/8....8.980
MPH....80.67
1/4....13.860
MPH...103.53

3rd- Even better, actually my best. Car was warmed up good and I was in the zone....
R/T.....841
60.....2.014
1/8....8.799
MPH....81.99
1000....11.474
1/4....13.698
MPH...103.08

After I ran the 13.6 I was pretty happy so I just chilled and watched people run for a while. I ran two times after that but the track was in poor condition because a twin turbo Monte Carlo blew up at the line spraying fluids everywhere. So i went home... but with a smile.

A 1/4 Mile is ~ 402 meters or 1420 feet.

What gas were you running in your car EVOlunchbox? Did you have any mods or is it bone stock? 103mph trap is the fastest stock trap I've seen. At what rpm are you shifting?

I ran 93 octane and it is bone stock. I was shifting right below 7000rpm. I never let it go beyond redline in any of the runs. It was pulling really hard at the end of the runs and I was right at the end of fourth gear. It was an awesome feeling though I never got the hang of launching it right. I was worried about the clutch, hearing all the other stories, so I "tried" to take it easy

-Sorry about the 1420.. I knew it had to do something with a quater mile.

Um, a 1/4 mile is 1320 feet, not 1420.

yea, a 1/4= 1320ft or 400m thats why in track and/ field 1 full lap is equal to 1 quarter of a mile and 4 laps equals 1 mile. As my girlfriend always says, 'just a lil B.T.W. for you". hehe

I'm going to try Gingerman once or twice in the near future. One of these days I will learn how to road course these bad *** rides. SCCA has always been something I'd like to learn..

Hey gtr and EVOlunch box, Tues, Wed, and Thurs you can pay 50 bucks and drive as many times as possible from 5-5:30pm until dark at Gingerman. I plan to hook up with a couple SCCA WMR directors sometime soon. One of the guys just picked up a 911 porshe to play around with. I will be attending the SCCA WMR Solo II event the 26th of this month (autocross w/cones). There are 9 total this summer. $15-20, a helmet, and your in. It's held locally.
