Talking 1/4 - am I the pimp of this forum

Went to the drag tonight and I mearly had a goal of breaking 14 sec. I ran a total of six times, Bare with me an my story it was a promissing experience.

93 octane
45 degrees
Mokan drag MO
No spare tire or jack
My weight 150 pounds (ripped though)
IC spray on auto except 4th run

1st run---------S10 pickup
Everything went good, best launch of the night until I missed 2nd gear. Damn, the s10 turned a 13.8 and I lost WTF.
Reaction- .8022
60 ft- ---- 1.9445
1000ft--- 12.02
1/4 ------14.342
MPH----- 97.61
(That blew)

2nd run--------- Early 90's 5.0 (suped up)
This time I about killed it. I bogged so heard thinking about 2nd gear. Good news I went through all the gears fine. 5.0 13.88 I lost again.(pissing me off further) WTF!
Reaction- .5827
60 ft------ 2.602
1000ft---- 12.254
1/4-------- 14.5432
MPH ------ 99.4
(After that I felt I was giving the car a bad name)

3rd run ---------- 02(or so) mustang GT
This time I bog again @#$*!! The good news is I won my first race of the night. GT ran a 14.9 (I suck donkey *****)
reaction- .6697
60ft------ 2.4219
1000ft--- 12.065
1/4------- 14.367
MPH------ 98.46
(I won but felt retarded)

This is where the story gets good!!!
This guy comes up and says "My buddy was driving my GT if we run again I will beat you" I started laughing at him (even though I had 0 confidence in my abilities) So I agreed to the cocky little man's challenge. At this point I am pissed that he thinks he can run with me.
4th run-----------same GT
Reaction- .8729(ouch)
60ft------- 2.1137
1000ft---- 11.5266
1/4-------- 13.7954
MPH------- 99.95
Hell Yeah I unleashed the dragon Gt 14.4 (spanked) he Immediatly left the drag strip for home, not to be seen again. I look down and I noticed the IC spray was not even on.

5th run--------------newer Type R integra(NOS, MANy add-ons)
I challenged him to a duel with my new found confidence, he excepted
reaction- .8216 (still bad)
60ft------ 2.00
1000ft--- 11.458
1/4 ------ 13.72
MPH------ 99.97
I won again, Type-r 15.1 (later turned a 14.1, I scared him)

Final run------------ O2 WRX(HAHAHA)
Whoever said a wrx could touch the evo was smoking crack. Not even close, the sti better bring a WHOLE lot more to the table.

reaction- .550
60ft------ 2.02
1000ft--- 11.436
1/4------- 13.68 (booya)
MPH------ 100.51

WRx-14.69 clearly no match

This car is fully capable of 13.4 or 13.5, with practice I think I can do it. My shifting is still a little weak. STi watch yourself!!!!!

sorry for the length I thought you all would like to see a 13.6 though

Not bad, not bad at all. Can't wait to see a 13.5 or 13.4.

I am surprised your track let you run your IC sprayer. Most i know of won't allow racers to drop any liquid on the track... that's nice for Evos & STis (and other cars with IC sprayers)

cause noone else has asked yet - post the slips - there are enough people out there that don't yet know the stock potential of the Evo, and I am sure this thread will attrack some nay-sayers quickly.

nice runs btw, shows quick & steady improvement.
also, what elevation is this track at?

high 13s isn't that fast in a modded S10. There are at least a half dozen in Minneapolis that are quite a bit faster then that. I will look through some of my vids and see if I can find some runs with them. (a LT1 drops into a S10 pretty easily -> tons of HP potential there)

pleaaaaaase post some timeslips. There are a couple people that need to shut up on a couple other forums, and a good timeslip will do it.

I'm confused. Your 60' times don't correlate with your 1/4 times. Either you're a hell of a shifter at some point or the track you're on is really fast. My best 60' without a missed shift was a 2.0 and that run was 13.8 @ 99.6 or something like that. Afterwards I've consistently hit 1.8 60' times but missed the 1-2 shift so didn't get my 13.5 I should hit. What are your shift points and are you powershifting.

True I'm 50lbs heavier than him. But that's still not that big a diff I don't think. Maybe it is How much gas was in the tank?

nope, they fit under the hood with few modifications - so I am told by reliable sources. but, since I have never done the swap myself, I won't say a whole lot more on just how easy it is or isn't. I do know that they can be made uber quick for relitively cheap, but don't expect to shine at the road track, twisties, or on a freeway race. horrible suspension, brakes, and CD (compared to a car anyway)
