Downshifts?
Double-clutching?
Heel and Toe?
How to do those basic driving technics?
How do they work?
What are the principles behind those?
When should I use those tricks?
Are they good or bad for the car? Why?

1. Downshifts
- gear changes from a higher gear to a lower gear( 4th -> 3rd)
- push clutch pedal to floor, move gear stick to next gear, let clutch pedal back up with a slight pause at the grab point to make it smooth.
- used all the time when you slow down or stop in a manual car
2. Double-clutching
- help to smooth the gear change and increase the life of the gearbox, particularly the syncromesh
- push clutch pedal to floor, move gear stick to neutral, release clutch pedal, blip the throttle, push clutch pedal to floor, move gear stick to next gear, release clutch pedal with a slight pause at grab point
- if you can do it then use it on all downshifts
3. Heel and Toe
- used with double-clutching when you are braking and need to downshift at the same time
- place accelerator/brake foot vertical over the accelerator pedal (depends on pedal placement), keep heel of foot where it is and move the toe towards the brake pedal, apply pressure with toe on the brake pedal, when you downshift and need to blip the throttle use the side or heel of the foot while keeping the toe on the brake
This is just a basic idea for more detail try a search of these forums or the internet.

u shouldn't need to downshift..when street driving at least. newer cars have syncronizers and they should do all the work instead of u double clutching. but if u're racing and and are a pro at shifting, u might wanna use it.
