z06 brakes on evo???????

I was wondering what it would take to make the front 6piston calipers from a 07 z06 work properly on an evo? Im not talking about the mounting cause that easy just the meatering of the fluid since they are different size pistons ect.

I wouldnt think the fluid would matter. People upgrade to big brake kits all the time, and as far as I know, they dont need to do anything special. Just plug your stock lines into the new calipers. I just dont think those will work period. It would be a major pita, require new rotors, and I dont think the z06 bolt pattern is the same so you couldnt use those stockers. All in all, I think it would end up being cheaper to just buy a bigger brake kit made for the evo. If you happen to have these z06 calipers laying around, sell them and you will probably make enough money to buy your brake kit. Thats my .02

z06 calipers are less then $200 each and I have a friend who is a machinest that could make brackets for it. so for around $600 I could have 6piston calipers and I already am planning to buy rotors.

I was shocked to find out that some of those vette parts are cheaper than you think. I say go for it if you're friend knows what he's doing. props for originality.

I've seen complete sets of Z06 brakes for around $1k. It wouldn't be difficult to get them to work, but I wouldn't want to buy a new set of wheels.

Are you serious? What points are you referring to? The leaf springs? Just wondering. After reading the book "All Corvettes are Red" and knowing a few engineers inside GM, I think the Corvette is a great design for the budget they are allowed. (Just to reference, despite being GMs Halo car, the Vette typically has one of the smallest development budgets)

+1

What a site for sore eye. Seeing an Evo rolling around with brake calipers that say Corvette.

Doesn't the Brembo on the Evo perform just as well as the 6 pot of the Z06?

haha Hey Steve, it's bryan@GST.

I did some more research and the C6 Z06 6pot calipers are made by PBR and use 6 pads per caliper.
