worlds lightest carbon evo hood!!!
here it is guys! i thought this deserved its own thread.
alejandro has constructed the lightest evo hood ever! here is the stock hood:
it weighs in at 17lb 11oz without the mesh in it.
now for the goods:
3lbs 11oz!!!!!!
the weave is spectacular:
heres alejandro holding it with 2 fingers:
his logo (its a joke... haha)
and a test fit on our time attack car:
we can make these special order for people if you want them. PM me or call me if your interested! they aren't cheap though, they are aircraft grade carbon, its a dry carbon layup using a giant autoclave. alejandro can go into the details. this is the second one we have made of the hood, the first on mark berrys nationals autocross car. this one is a bit lighter then his (and a little bit more flimsy). we may end up adding some more reinforcement if it is to flexible. the track day is next saturday so we will know then!!!

That is gonna be so expensive to make on a piece by piece system, I know what it should cost I work for boeing doing this and would never spend that on a hood unless he is losing money.
