Tune help...
Im a fairly new owner of my Evo and Im in need of a tune..badly.
I was wondering if anyone in the New Jersey area (I'm at McGuire AFB, 08641) can help me and teach me how to tune my car...
I don't have a lot of mods so it shouldn't be to hard...
AEM intake
HKS Cams
TB Exhuast
Blitz BOV
Wastegate/Dump Valve
Walbro Fuel Pump
Megan Racing Manifold
and I have Adjustable Cam Gears but there uninstalled...
Thanks for your help..

You have 3 choices: Krazyhouse Customs, TurboTrix, and Ivey. I don't think any of them will teach you how to tune and they all taught themselves. But you can get your car tuned there buy your own cable and software and lean to tune on your own.
If you want to self tune I would suggest you watch these videos: Training Videos: How to tune an Evo with EcuFlash
And read this thread about 50 times: How To Tune an Evo

No I dont feel stupid, and I said chair because that is what I wanted to say, not "cheer". Since you help train Rangers at 19 years old I am sure you have a wealth of knowledge and combat deployment expierence to offer. Get a couple of tours under your belt and then you can run your mouth to a combat veteran. I guess I came off a little harsh about the "Chair Force" so here is some more help on your endeavor to learn to tune "Ranger Trainer".

This guy will walk you through the changes he is making and why. The second address is for the equipment you will need to start the process.
I guess you were just too busy to search for this with all the Ranger Training and deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq?

I'll tell you what Mr. Army... go through the 87 days of training I went through in Hurlburt Field, FL and then go through the S.E.R.E I went through in Fairchild AFB,Washinton State before you try to judge.
TACP - Tactical Air Control Party
I WORK and TRAIN hand in hand with Army Rangers and Navy Seals til I get my JTAC (Joint Terminal Attack Controller) which takes up to 4 years. My job is to:
Brief attack pilots as they enter the target area, ensuring they are aware of the target and friendly position. I provide the U.S. ARMY (See WORK with) and allied forces with tactical air support from ground attack and other Air and Space assets.
And I dont do "tours" bud, I go on 2-6 week "TDYS". I PROMISE you I've been to MANY MORE (MUCH MIORE DANGERIOUS) locations then you have in my little 2 years of service. (Camp Viper, Camp Condor, Camp Ashraf, Balad AFB, TAJI AB, Camp Bulldog, Bagram AFB, SACHON AFB, Etc.)
Now..what were you saying... sorry sir...
- thanks for the help

OWNED hahaha!

Yeah all this im better then you because ive had more tours or been to more places via the Air Force or Army is ridiculous.
No reason for any of that.
Anyway the mellon tuning website basically will tell you how to set your computer up to download your ROM, flash your ROM, Open it in ECU flash all via a laptop and tactrix cable.
Go to www.tunertools.com to buy the cable they usually have what ever you need. The guy who runs that place is really helpful.
I would also recommend getting a wide band o2 sensor. I personally use the Innovate LC-1 but there are a lot of other good option out there as well.
the thread how to tune and evo is a great read and really seems to cover all of the basics. I havent messed around with my tune much yet because my mellon tune is still pretty solid, but it seems that if you are going to play around with it small changes are the way to go.
good luck and be safe!

We are all well aware of the service that a TACP provides to troops on the ground. Without them close air support, establishing of runways and airdrops would not happen. Let's keep it real too. S.E.R.E. training at Fairchild is not that difficult. Afterall every pilot in the Air Force has to go through it and that's not saying that much. Working and training hand in hand with Spec Ops personnel is a whole lot different than actually going through BUDS or RIP training. Your job is much appreciated by troops on the ground so let's not get this into a service versus service spat.
Back on topic.
If you are serious about learning to tune then your best friend will be reading. Don't expect somebody to spoon feed it to you. That's presumptous and the lazy way out. Some helpful links have already been posted so I suggest you click on those and start educating yourself. Good luck.

I'm in the Air Force for god's sake. TRUST ME, I am not one to say I am better lol Air Forse gets $hitted on by Army and Others all the time. I was just pissed cause MR. HOOWAA over there RANDOMLY pulled the whole "Chiar Force" card.
and S.E.R.E F'in sucked! IDK what your talking about! Being put in a box for 24 HOURS was not fun lol.
My dad is A Lt. Col in the army.. I have no problems with the army at all. nor do I have any of the other services. I was just taking up for my branch.
And thanks guys..I think im going to get it tuned and then learn more about tunning before actually trying it.

^good call.. this way you will start out with a solid base and then when you add something you can start playing by tweaking things here and there.
