Fidanza 3.2

Purchased my 3.2 a yr and 1/2 ago for my Evo 8. It was brought to my attention by a rep at Fidanza that the 3.2 is good for a Daily and good for the track on stock turbo. So far I qualify, my car has bolt ons only w/ stock motor and turbo. I Broke in the clutch for the recommended period and had it professionally installed. I never launched on the street. In total I was able to get only 6 runs in at the track with the 3.2 I now have a car with a toasted clutch. Overall I'm very disappointed in the Fidanza 3.2 clutch kit. I contacted Brad @ Fidanza to explain my situation. He seemed to not care too much. He then asked me to explain the situation to Aaron in Tech. Aaron explained he recommends a 1000k break in on the 3.2 kevlar clutch. Within the instructions the break in was 500 miles of pure city driving. If 1000 miles is what the break in needs to be than it needs to be stated.

Closing statement: I was very patient in getting this clutch, as I waited kindly for the near 3 week period even thru poor customer service. Even without notice from Fidanza for the delay, I was very kind. I bought a clutch that did not last from a company that does not care. They offered no solution or concern in my position. I write this review with respect, as I feel some companies need to care more about their customers. We are the reason they're in business!

I had a 3.2 for four months, 7500 miles..It was run at 265whp 278wtq..I had launched it maybe 10 times no track days, and had some hard shifting, but it didnt hold up at all..I talked to Aaron and he told me a 4 puck kevlar shouldnt be used in a AWD platform..But yet they still sell them..

Any reports as to the longevity of the 6-puck?

I also am a victim of this worthless clutch. After reading the positive review on the front page of this site. I purchased one from buschur racing. That was in march of last year, and it only lasted until the end of june. Barely even 4000 miles. I only launched my car once. What a waste o 650 bucks. I think that review should be remove from the front page of this site, because it is clearly inaccurate, and was the main factor in choosing that clutch. I even broke it in for 1000 + miles.

I now have an ACT HD-G6 sprung hub 6 puck ceramic metallic. Its been in my evo for about 17000 miles and still grabs like new, after 10 launches. And no lockout ever (8k rpm shifts). BTW the fidanza 3.2 come with an OEM daiken pressure plate; poor clamping force combined with a crappy disk = one terrible clutch. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!

Fidanza claims the redesign was to inprove longevity and holding power.

There are plenty of people who had great luck with the Fidanza 3.2 so I really believe it comes down to driving style. Kevlar needs to be broken in easily and it hates to be slipped so its better for a driver who is quick with the clutch.

Thats interesting to know about the Fidanza 3.2 clutch kits. I was considering the 4.3 version
but now maybe something else instead.

Thanks for the follow ups everyone. I was hoping I was not alone. In conclusion, Fidanza seems to not produce the best quality goods. They produce some products that aren't meant for a certain platform but yet it's still produced. What does this say? Do they care about taking care of the customer? In my case and position I feel they do not. If I do not feel good running something in my car, there is no way I would recommend to anyone else.

This information is false. I just got off the phone with Fidanza, as I wanted to know exactly which model I was going to purchase.

The 5 speed clutch has always been a 4-puck, the 6-speed clutch is the 6 puck. The design has not changed.

Really? cause EVERYONE I have talked to since wasting money on the one I had to replace has had theirs go out no matter what they do with the car.

It's to the point where even if someone has 10,000 miles on theirs I'd be waiting to see how much longer it goes.

I really hope they have changed the design... it seems the friction material on mine was made super thin in order to realize a higher clamping force from the (as noted) lighter duty pressure plate... now this made it great when I got it, held 411/426 dynojet very well and no high rpm lockout issues at all. It was great to drive while it lasted.

The 3.2 failed on the free Evom review car. It has also failed on every car we have installed it on. We will not sell Fidanza for this reason.
