Thumbs down Competition Stage 4 6 puck clutch

So I have had the clutch for about 10000 miles and the chatter never went away. About a week ago I was doing regular daily driving and went to flip a *****. I push the clutch in and almost immediately went to the floor and I heard a loud clunk for the tranny. After I had to manually lift the clutch up from the floor... Just got the money to pull the tranny! The Throw out bearing Snapped in half. I guess it has happened to all or most of the clutches that MAPerformance got a defective batch I guess... But they(comp) never said it was! Pics

Give Comp a call, they'll take care of you. Always use an OEM Mitsu TOB no matter what clutch kit you're running. I had an aftermarket TOB fail on me too.

I did... They said they are selling it with a different TOB but we will see.
They are replacing it, but I am just pissed I had to pay someone again to do the clutch!

So did the clutch failed or the TOB failed?

Comp will take care of you dude, call them or work with MAP to get it resolved.

This issue aside, how do you like the clutch? DD, launching, etc etc.

I'm a little confused now. I know that some of the throwout bearings had issues. I'm currently running RRE flywheel with CCI stage 4 + throwout bearing. So with your issue was it just the throwout bearing that caused all that or did the pressure plate have something to do with it?

Reason I'm asking is because I will be changing the transmission soon on my car and I will be replacing the TOB with the OEM peice. So while I'm doing this I need to know if the pressure plates have issues for me to address while I have everything apart. Oh and I'll be doing the work myself with a friend

As a review. The clutch pedal right now is making a strange noise sometimes when pushing in. I'm not sure if its the pedal that needs to be greased or its from the throwout bearing. The clutch does chatter a lot now. Not the kind that makes a noise when in neutral, but the kind when you try to take off slowly and smoothly and you get all kinds of vibration. Other than that no complaints.

clutch was ok... almost no life left on it after 6 months. 30 launches or so. It never smelled like clutch but I dont believe it will hold up with anything over basic bolt ons...
The TOB was the main issue that caused most of the issues with the clutch!

F**k!!!

If I open this up and the pressure plate looks good including that clip peice on it, could/should I just replace the throwout bearing or do I still need to replace the pressure plate?
